Kathy is remarkably calm about the fact that her grandson is a killer - EE

Kathy knows Bobby killed Lucy but she is surprisngly fine with Bobby. I thought she might be scared of him but on Friday's episode, she and Bobby were having a good time watching a film. Ian, Jane, Sharon and Phil have behaved appallingly by letting Max go to prison. Kathy knows an innocent man is locked up for life and she's doing nothing about it. She doesn't know Max personally but I'm a bit shocked that she's not asking Ian and Jane to report Bobby to the police

Kathy understands that Bobby must be protected by the whole square at all costs. She's just come back from the dead, she'll want to try and fit in as much as possible by following the rules on keeping the secret and letting Max rot.

To be fare ian did tell her it was an accident so she'll believe there isn't anything to fear.

Kathy has lived with both Gavin and Phil. She is probably happy Bobby is turning into a little monster. Her son Ben is a murderer, both Gavin and Phil are no doubt murderers and now her grandson is a killer, while Jane dumped the body and both Jane and Ian have sent an innocent man to jail. What's not to like.

It was a tragic accident. Bobby is only 11. If it gets out, is life is ruined.

She's probably secretly hoping that Bobby will kill gavin. Maybe he could hit him over the head with his games controller, that should do it.

Kathy has been told it was accident so she has no reason to fear Bobby.

When Ian was explaining everything to her it was clear that she doesn't like what has happened but she is not about to rock the boat with Ian after playing dead for 9 years and turn her own grandson in.

It's bad that she isn't saying anything but the others have all done that and more. Jane dumped the body and caused this mess in the first place, Ian bullied and threatened two teenagers, Phil paid the jury foreman to secure a guilty verdict and Sharon swanned around saying that that verdict is a good thing and they all know Max personally.

A mother's love is unconditional and she was presumably told by Phil at the time that it was an accident. She certainly was by Dot on screen.

After a decade under the thumb of Gavin, living under the same roof as Slugger Beale is probably like a breath of fresh air.

She seem to be calm about a few things.

Bobby being Lucy's killer
Ben killing Heather
Phil married to Sharon (her arch enemy)
Pat dead
Dot incarcerated and released
No Peter
Lola gone without her seeing her grand kid

Does she know about Steven being a bit unhinged and shooting Jane as well? She might be bothered by the Cindy/Beth stuff as well even though shes not actually her granddaughter.

I would have written a remark like "Where's everyone gone? It's not the same here."

That isn't her priority, she knows it was an accident.
