Definitely sounds like producers want someone out then who is currently 3rd from bottom in voting.

I do get the impression they are making things up as they go along.

They should have just had single eliminations and then a "super semi final" only 4 of the 8 can make it etc.

Yeah but I feel it's a ploy for people who haven't voted or those who have voted but have extra votes, to panic vote with the time left. They should get more people voting this way.
