At least while he's fluffing his lines on tv, he's not singing or doing his dad dancing - small mercies and all that

I remember thinking that Dermot was a bit shite too though, when he first started on The X Factor. He grew on me, though. Might be the same with Olly and Caroline.

Big leap from Xtra Factor to the main show and they haven't got the presence or clout for it. Makes me realise how good Dermot actually was - as he made it look so easy and just took it all in his stride.

Do you do that with TV dramas.. Do you keep watching them till the end even though it's crap

They are the modern day Sam Fox and Mick Fleetwood ( 1989 brit awards).

I can't stand either of them. The minute a contestant leave they have those two on top of them shoving a mic in their face. Caroline screams every line. It's awful.

There seemed to be so many false starts tonight on the auto cue, I'm not sure what was happening but they would stop abruptly and start reading the same sentence again. First rule of any kind of performance you just carry on. They just both come across extremely amateurish. They aren't completely terrible but Dermot was at the top of his game. He came across well and seemed to care about the acts. He steered the ship and wasn't afraid to talk back to the judges. Olly and Caroline are like two well behaved school children giggling in awe of their boss but I think that was what Simon probably wanted, a couple of puppets.

I am sure Olly will be back to his day job next year. The new single hasn't done as well as his previous ones.

They really should have just had Caroline do it herself, she is a seasoned pro on live TV,

Bring back Kate Thornton!

Poor Olly it was super cringe watching him, at the very end he looked like he was going to be sick, what's he going to be like when the judges faff about even more and the shows running out of time? I think next weekend Caroline should take over more and Olly can be the sidekick.

Yes indeed. I liked her a lot as a presenter on the X-factor.

Basic requirement for Autocue is to read aloud but sound natural as if you are not reading. Ollie unfortunately has a problem reading aloud so is not live presenter material. Anyone with drama training would be much better suited, I cannot understand why professionally trained people are not used for these jobs??

Are TV dramas live? Might the actors feel nervous that they only get one shot and have to get it right? No, they get to do it until it is right. Live TV is a whole different ball game.

Because yet again Simon misjudged things and thought putting olly in would make the show cool and down wit da kids.

Dermot was so much more professional, oozed class and although more serious, had a fun side as well.

Olly (although I like him and his songs) he's a bit saturday morning television. I think if he were looking for another career presenting, he'd need to grow up a bit more and be slightly more serious and more polished....
