They are a fun act! Also some girls watching will fancy them. Girls get really catty about female acts, especially if they show a bit of 'sass'. Little Mix managed to put across the message that they were doing it 'for the girls' and garnered their support. The also had an 'urban' relatable mentor (Tulisa). If they'd been mentored by Louis they would have got nowhere.

Mentored by Louis, they'd have been a female Westlife tribute act

I cant believe people think Females prefer to vote for Males. Unbelievable as if they would do that.

We're joking but I don't think it's far from the truth

I'm imagining them doing Flying Without Wings on bar stools

I think the voters prefer male voices over female voices hence the amount of male winners.

Not male voices, just males in general... The voters are mums, nans and teenage girls fancying a lad on TV. This is why Mason has it in the bag.

There is little point supporting female acts on X Factor. The audience will only ever back 1 a year at best. Kiera, Monica, Lauren and 4th Impact will all be out soon while mega talented Reggie n Bollie etc stay in. Louisa might hang around for a bit longer and probably have to have massive amounts of producer help to get her votes. Girls will be first category out again. Guaranteed.

There is a reason Simon Cowell has never given himself the girls category.

Sam Bailey and Little Mix managed to scrape wins against the mammoth talents of Nicholas and Marcus Collins, yes. But boy did the producers have to work darn hard to make that happen. And Alexandra Burke was thrashed in the voting by mega talent Eoghan Quigg every single week until the last minute. We don't know how Leona did.

Are those who think Max got through for being male implying that females are voting because they fancy him? Because I don't think old droopy eyes, fun-vacuum Max is exactly a heartthrob.

I think Leona only just about scraped a win again the Scouse goblin Ray Quinn.

Though give him his due, to sing YNWA with tears running down his cheeks was an absolute masterstroke. I'm just amazed he wasn't wearing a Liverpool with a curly wig and stick on tache for good measure

Though to be fair, there isn't really anyone to get the females drooling this time round.

I mean, look at the line up of males - Max, Seann, Anton, Che. Mason is probably the best looking but he's a complete c*ck

It's coming to something when Cowell is the most fanciable male on the show

There has always been a tendency for teenage girls to buy boys records, this goes back to Elvis and The Beatles. So there has nearly always been more successful male than female artists in the charts. It's only in recent years that there is more balance in the charts with the girls doing a lot better. So is the XF really all that out of step with the real world of pop music?

I agree (except about Mason being the best-looking). There are no male heart-throb types in this year's X Factor live finals. Now why would that be? Because Louisa is to be the winner. Simon has already said the immortal words 'You have no idea how good you are' to her - that's a sure sign he has decided she is the winner.

No but it doesn't take a genius to assume that more females would watch X factor than males and be more inclined to vote. I think women tend to care more about stuff like this than men, but if you think more men vote than women then fine.

Keira should be next to go.

One Direction had young girls voting tor them every week, but the Matt and Rebecca fan bases were a lot more stronger.

To be fair though, the three in the bottom this week were the weakest. Bupsi was awful, Alien can't sing and their performance was just a mess and Keira has always been unlikeable.

They weren't great but they weren't as bad as Reggie and Bollie.

Sam Bailey won because she wasn't seen as a threat (i.e not a potential boyfriend stealer)... lets be honest she wasn't that attractive.

If she had been more attractive she wouldn't have got to the final.

Of course, modern feminists would claim it's internalized misogyny and thus directly men's fault. In reality, women are naturally very competitive. This is from years of evolution and ensuring the best mate, and we haven't yet grown out of it. Women will always be bitches to other women, particularly those seen as sexually superior.

When Alien first came on, I said to my wife that although for what they are they are pretty good, they will go first week.

While it might be a fair point in general regarding the X factor voters it's hard to argue against the bottom 3 this week was the weakest 3

Almost every poll, forum and the bookies all predicted Kiera and Bupsi would be in the bottom 2 after Saturdays show and so, as much as I do think women can have it harder, this time it really was about the weakest links
