I suspect she will be in the bottom 3 again this week along with 2 of Monica/Lauren/4th Impact. Not sure the judges will save her against any of them.

This is exactly what everyone on here kept saying about Fleur last year, and look how well she did.

What a complete load of utter dribble. and if you think losing your Mum when you are 16 then you need to talke a long hard look at yourselve in the mirror. Sighs.

As he said there is no point in having the sing off if you dont put through the best singer. It is as simple as that.

have you ever watched the show before as i sometimes doubt it ?

cowell has regularly put through acts completely ignoring the sing-off but based on who he thinks will do better if they are saved and that was the point i was making

being the better singer in a sing-off against alien isn't exactly setting the bar very high

Jeref you were confident that Kiera wasn't going to even be in the singoff because there were "far worse singers than her" and now look what happened? You may like her personally, but you are an exception to common opinion. Most people dislike Kiera which is why she won't last long in the competition.

I repeat myself, if they are just going to put through who they prefer rather than who sings best in the sing off then they have to scrap the sing off as it just makes a mockery of the show.

No, but i expect they have finally come round to realise that the public dont like it when it is ovvious who has sand the best does not get through. Plus it is not fair on any of the contestants either as they are singing uder great pleasure.

sorry but thats nonsense and you know it

if you think cowell will make a decision based on the sing-off alone because he has suddenly become interested in fairness and wont send an act home when it suits him regardless of how they perform in the sing-off then you have been watching a different show to the rest of us

more likely he already knew alien had the fewest votes and would have been sent home anyway if it went to deadlock so wanted to look like he was being kind

The only answer then is to scrap the sing offs then, and top wasting the contestants time.

i've said that many a time , i actually preferred the way they did it on american idol where the judges had one save they could use in the series so if there was a week that someone just had a really bad week and ended up with fewest votes they could give them a second chance

but they had to think about using it carefully as they could only do it once

thats how the sing-off should be used here as well and rather than the decision be made on the sing-off alone it is a last chance to change the judges minds as they would already have a preference between the acts in the sing-off anyway but it has never been consistent and the judges will change their minds when it suits them about whether the best in the sing-off gets saved or the act they feel shouldn't have been in the bottom two to begin with

Indeed, but he seems to be trying something different this year, perhaps as part of the whole "X Factor revamp" thing that they're pushing, who knows. I noticed him being a lot nicer too - well, to everyone except Kiera that is.

He'll probably just regress to his old ways sooner or later.

he wasn't very nice to a few acts at the SCC stage

to me he is not there to be nice , he is there to be honest and kiera was one of the few honest critiques he gave all night on saturday imo

the only criticism i would have had about what he said was something about her being more like fleur in terms of performance as i dont think she is that type of performer

I wonder if he still plans to sign up Alien as on Saturday night he was raving about them. Was left with egg on his face last night which was just fantastic to see.

could have been worse

he might have described them as being a class above all the other acts and guaranteed to be near the top of the voting only to end up in the bottom three

I can't believe there are people out there and on here that think she will be in final four!!!

She'll be gone by week three possibly even next week unless the show gives her a later slot!

Let's be honest , she isn't going to last long in this completion as her vocal is quite weak . You can get away with it a bit if your a good performer/dancer like fluer did last year but Kiera is a poor performer. A little tip to make her last a little longer is do not whatsoever give her an uptempo song . She can't do uptempo if her life depended on it

That's what they kept saying about Fleur on here last year. Keep on saying it. Hahahaha.

Pretty sure fleur wasn't way down in the sing off in week one though was she ?

Sometimes Simon does keep the act that sings the best.

Other times he keeps an act because they generate more headlines/get people talking - Katie Waissel, Jedward etc.

Not a fan of alien at all but simon saved Keira not because of the sing off but to give fourth impact a clear run out of the groups

I agree with you. I can't imagine Cowell ever caring about what the public think, he just votes with £££££ in his mind.

I think you're right that Alien were bottom anyway so he gained nothing by taking it to deadlock and he could give a valid reason why he was binning them off.

I don't remember particularly people baying for Fleurs blood in the first few weeks. I seem to recall several other acts being the fodder last year and Fleur went through pretty much unscathed

I think Kiera will be gone by week 4 but I'm always happy to hold my hands up and admit it when I'm wrong. Why would anyone not admit when they get it totally wrong? It only ends up making one look stupid

Different stage in the competition, with acts that he didn't want or expect to reach the final stage. So far, in the lives, he seems nicer than usual, praising acts that I think he would have slaughtered previously. Whether that's a conscious effort, and whether it continues to happen, is anyone's guess.

I don't think he's there to be nice either, but I'd prefer him to at least be consistent. Lamenting Keira for her poor performance is a good thing, but to then praise similarly awful acts doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

As for the basing the sing-off judgement on the actual sing-off performance, that's a welcome change, and I hope it continues. Otherwise sing-offs will just begin to feel pointless and futile, as they did in the past.

Agreed with the last part, the comparison made no sense to me at all. Keira has a nice voice when she gets it right, but I haven't seen anything to suggest she can really put on a show. In fact, most times, she appears a bit vacant when she sings, like she's dead behind the eyes.

Maybe Kiera can perform well like Fleur on x factor site on her profile it says

Fascinating Fact: Kiera can bust out some serious shapes, confessing: “Rita doesn’t know I can dance I want to surprise everyone at the lives, I’m an A-level dance student'

Remember Simon saying her other song at the auditions was good the 2nd song not sure what it was since it wasn't aired.
