An hour of predictable rubbish!

The scenes were trying to be scary but wasn't and you could read the whole thing like a book.
The sound effects and camera angles were cheap and nasty.

Best bits was Stacey & Martin and the last few minutes.
Once an Hour EastEnders was brilliant and had you on the edge of you're seat.

It dragged a bit but that last few minutes was bloody awesome for me Dan. I loved the Hello Princess line. Self referential, but brilliantly done. I don't think I'm bothered about Kathy but I am warming to Gavin.

Awww Dan, I have to say it was over hyped, but I liked it, Sharon was great at the end.

I can understand that but it made me laugh and it was a brilliant duff duff. Probably my favourite one this year.

Agree that Stacey and Martin were the best th ing about the episode, and I surprised myself there. Also liked Whitney and Lee. I was distracted in the last few minutes by Gavin being able to hold a red hot lighter for so long.

Was it actually supposed to be an hour special or was it 2 normal episodes squashed together?

I knew that Gavin would use the 'Hello princess' line At times the episode seemed a bit cheesy with the horror music coming from the TV. I did however like the suspense of whether Gavin was in the house and what happened to Bobby.

I think that this episode was intentionally meant to be 1 hour (not just two 30 minute episodes put together). Perhaps the episode could've been cut down though as it seemed to drag on quite a bit. The New Year and Live Week 1 hour episodes were amazing which followed after a meh Christmas 1 hour episode.

I'm surprise to hear you disliked it Dan but I guess we all reach a point of realisation if something is working or not viewer wise, EE for me is a real mixed bag, the episode was better then the rest of the week but was over-hyped, I do hope the quality improved as we head toward Xmas.

I liked the horror film nods, the suspense of it all and Kathy looking all paranoid. The music though was pretty cheesy but nevertheless good. Stacey being electrocuted was pretty good too, I knew it was coming and was just waiting for it to happen. After it though I'm assuming Lee's depression will ate a different direction.

Overall a decent episode, predictable but enjoyable.

Oh it did feel disjointed. To be honest I didn't feel there was much scary about it. I'd have gone down the psychological horror route as opposed to big scary Gav. And why didn't they have Phil and Dennis watching Sixth Sense???? "I see dead people!"

I thought some of it was quite good, but I did laugh in a few places when I don't think I should have

Fair enough. I do think he's perfect for this depression s/l...he's got the face for it . And I like Whitney when she has a decent s/l. I also prefer the Stacey/Whitney friendship than the Stacey/Shabnam one. I think Shabnam has been dragging her down far more than Martin. She was quite her old self on Friday.

The Gavin stuff was far too panto to be scary...he's behind you.

100% agree with BIB and have thought for years that their friendship is a lost opportunity. Hopefully now they are maturing Whitney as a character, they will find her some appropriate female friends too.

I think Lee's story is one of the best in the show at the moment, it feels real and is an issue that is releatable, also it is so refreshing that the show is giving a story like this to a young male character who over the years have been neglected or just used as eye candy to sleep with all the girls. Danny Boy is doing a great job and I am loving Whitney's role in it as well, for once she is being the supporter in the relationship which we have never seen previously.

Stacey is a perfect friend for her, she's the nearest thing Whitney has to family now. Stacey could be a big help to Lee as well...she's been there, reluctant to take medication etc.

The Stacey thing was ok and watchable but no different to any other episode so not quite sure what was so "special" about this one....also scary?? Hmmm, the few cracks of thunder showing Gavin in the lightening was more like an episode of scooby doo!

Lastly, did Sharon know Gavin was her dad when she entered the kitchen? I mean she gave him evils straight away and how did she know he left a kid behind??? I'm confuzzled. To me it looked like she knew already but when he said "hello princess" - which was totally cringe by the way! - she looked shocked?

Deja vu? We need to keep a tab on these threads. I am sure I have seen this thread a few times elsewhere.

Sharon gave him evils because he had a lighter over a box of fireworks next to a quivering Kathy and Ben.

I don't think she realized til he walked over to her and said 'I walked away from my kid, though I do admire your guts..'

Absolute tripe. We were laughing at it, was it supposed to be scary ? How predictable with Gavin being her dad. Yawwwwwwwwn ! Him holding the lighter for 15 minutes over the fireworks was painful. I could understand if it was petrol that would ignite straight away. Even if he did drop the lighter into the box it would ever go out or would take some time to set alight. Everyone standing there like morons as if he had a knife to Kathy's throat. It was laughable. Painful beyond belief.
