as i have said on many occasions they can still have themes to give the live show some sort of direction but still allow acts a more open choice of what they sing
"be yourself" week was hilarious. How that even made it out of someone's mind to the point of being expressed verbally to other human beings let alone endorsed by the entire production team and put on television is a marvel in its own right.
i'm torn on themed weeks. I don't think it helps for everyone to be singing the same sort of song. I think maybe it should be up to the mentor to showcase different elements of their singers throughout the show rather than have a big band/disco/ballad etc, weeks.
