Corrie: What is wrong with Sinead? Why does she act like she's 80?

Sinead really annoys me. She moves around like she's an old woman.

She dresses like an old woman.

And she talks like one.

I'm fed up of her looking down on people as if she has some massive world experience of life. And the way she nods her head when people say things and moves her lips up, is annoying.

I think she and Fizz are the WORST characters and actresses in Corrie at the mo', and that's saying something.

She still hasn't been brought to account for her part in murdering that fat bloke that owned the gym, or Maddie. If it weren't for her horrible, crappy candles, they might still be alive.

Despise Sinead.

For someone who was in a wheelchair and having a steamy affair with Irish Wheels not so long ago, she seemed very sprightly when she were running around that forest with him off of Take Me Out.

Boring character.

Another of these characters on Corrie who exaggerate their accent and lays it on thick. Sounds like Orville at times.

She's had a complete character transplant since dating Ches. From quirky to simpleton.

Thought Sinead could be quite interesting and likeable when she first came in but now I find her utterly unlikeable. I thought the actress was great in Waterloo Road though.

I cannot stand the character of Sinead. I don't know what the actress is doing with her, because she was great on Waterloo Road, but she is hateful on Corrie.

So what? So do I.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it at all. Some people are just old fashioned or old before their time. In fact so is Chesney, so that's what makes them well suited.

It's good to have some characters who are like that, because in real life not everyone is trendy and outgoing.

She's another of Blackburn's total change of character for change sake. Her enunciation is dire .... yes, many people do speak through their nose but she takes it to another level. Pity, as she had potential when she first appeared.

She dresses like Emily Bishop.

Being paired with Chesney was the death knell for the character. Her crash recovery storyline had so much potential but terribly written.

I also liked her on waterloo road and liked her quirkyness as Sinead when she joined but she is awful.

Another one that we could see have a complete change under Kate Oates. I honestly belive that CS will be so much better under her reign that she will be aroiund a long time. Sinead should have been such a great character but once again stupid mistakes were made at the beginning along with a producer who just went with what the writers did and never questioned the scripts prior to filming.

Have I missed something or did Chesney and Sinead end up going to Portugal to see Katy?

Last time I checked Sinead was acting all peed off. Then Fiz tried to give her a pep talk about why Chesney suited her because Katy had 'zero personality'. What a cow. If Katy is dull, what does that make Sinead?

Chesney was pushing well above his weight anyway.

Sinead has only joined the long list of Pantomine characters and acting that is Coronation Street

Fuzz really said that? That Katy had a right cracking set of personalities.

Sinead was & still could be a great character!! She was quirky, funny & likable when she first joined the Street!! At the time I thought yeah great, a character eho can breathe a bit of life into deathly boring Chesney!! Problem is the current team have zero idea how to develop a character & instead of bringing Ches up to her level she has dropped, through bad characterisation & terrible writing to the same level of 'interest' as Chesney!!
I cannot imagine who thought it a good idea to drop her into the minibus injury, as it just wasn't a storyline suited to her character & Ches/ Sam Aston was never going to be able to do it justice!! All we ended up with was half a dozen scattered scenes of Sinead laid on het back lookinga bit worried & Chesney going around looking & acting like he had a bad case of constipation, then hey presto, six weeks had gone by and, barring one tiny blip when she fell trying to get a teabag, she was fine again & acting like nothing had happened?? Pathetic really!!
Sinead is one of those characters who needs others to work off!! Her factory scenes are ok & she needs more scenes with Beth, Kirk & Craig!! I still believe with decent material, Katie McGlynn can turn her back into the same funny, quirky & likable character she started out as but, as with many current characters/ actors she's trying to make the proverbial silk purse out of the proverbial sow's ear & in her case it really isn't working!!
As to whether she will be capable of carrying Chesney along with her is somewhat debatable!!

Why the two exclamation marks after each sentence?

I can think of at least half a dozen Corrie characters that I like a lot less than Sinead.

She's got a good heart and brightens up any scene she's in. I don't understand the sniping on here .. she was dressed very attractively for the Underworld party, showing off a nice pair of legs into the bargain. As for her accent, surely they all speak like that up there, don't they? Can't be as bad as Audrey's awful accent which I find really uncomfortable to hear!

I like Sinead.

She's an old soul in a young body and there's nothing wrong with that. I think that's meant to be her character. She doesn't drink and that time Chez tried bought her a fashionable dress to go out in, she said it just wasn't her. There are plenty of young girls like that. Homebodies. Rather that than a caricature of a teenager like Bethany.

As for Sinead's voice, that is the same voice she had in Waterloo Road so I think thats the real McCoy

Its also why I like Craig so much. Just a decent young lad who's sensitive and sweet. Not all teenage boys are moronic thugs.

Corrie does 'normal' quite well.

The character has the worst mannerisms which make her incredibly annoying.
