Cheryl's scowl

She's absurdly miserable for someone who's been given one of the best jobs on telly judging everyone else's singing ability on the basis of fairly limited singing talent herself. On the Xtra Factor the judges were answering questions with murmuring of a busy studio and other judges having quiet words with each other off-mic without problem. Then Cheryl was asked a question and as there wasn't utter silence she scowled towards Simon and said something like:

"Have you got something to say?"

How can someone with her money and her opportunities constantly come across as such a sour sod? I don't understand what her problem is. She either fancies the pants off Simon and is terrible at hiding it or she really is one of the most miserable ******* ever to be on television.

It was clearly a bit of banter. Simon and Cheryl act like that with each other all the time.

But banter surely involves two people bantering?

I've never seen bantering where one person says something and the other 'banters back' by way of a face like a slapped arse.

They constantly annoy each other like that and 'bicker' but it's all done in a joking manner.

I've just rewatched the clip. She didn't scowl. She just said, "Are you saying something?" to which Simon replied, "Are we not allowed to talk?". Cheryl then said "No I was just talking to Rochelle" and Simon said, "I wasn't talking about you". Cheryl said "ok" and Simon rolled his eyes and said "I lost someone as well tonight, you weren't the only one". It was banter. 2 people bantering.

She was miffed because he sent home her act, even though her talked them up the night before. I can kind of see why she was annoyed, but I think she hams it up for 'controversy'.

I couldn't help but feel a little bit pleased that Alien went out because it would piss Cheryl off for losing her favourite act. I'm glad Simon made the decision based off of the sing offs, like how it's meant to be. I assumed he and Nick would save Alien over Kiera because of their hype. If Cheryl doesn't like how it works, then why does she continue to be a judge on the show? She knows how it works by now, there's no need to act like a sulky child over losing an act.

Like what you did with the thread title, subtle mention of Simon too.

They're trying to recreate the Simon and Louis magic and failing miserably.

Exactly what I thought. Was certain Nick and Simon would save Alien over Kiera because they "had more to give" or whatever daft reasons are often make during these sing offs. I'm actually quite liking Nick G - he doesn't (so far) seem to be Cowell's puppet in the way Louis W was.

Cheryl's face is always a complete picture when she is pissed off - she really can't hide it and probably thought Simon would save her girls or at least take it to the public vote.

They're not her favourite act. 4th power/impact are the ones she's hoping to win with. She knows they can win! I would be miffed too. Kiera is getting duller by the day...
