Behaviour like Jamelia's just reinforces the impression that showbiz people have little talent, but huge egos and a massive sense of entitlement. You are doing a very well-paid job that puts you in the public eye and may lead to further work down the road, Jamelia. Try and remember that, and in particular don't slag off the people who actually ARE voting for you! Alternatively if all you want is to be loved - get a puppy. I loved her for her honesty. A lot more classy than the ghastly Andre with his revolting sucking up. I can well imagine all the bizarre, petty and plain stupid reasons why people do not like Jamelia, but they are entitled to vote as they choose. She isn't the best dancer. She has always said her feet were her big problem. At least she is not trying to be fake like some of the others. But to patronise her, lecture her from The Pulpit and suggest she is a spoilt egomaniac is a bit much! Seriously?

She probably said it out of embarrassment at the time cause I could see myself saying something like that to defend myself.
Thing is though she said that and people are going "not true!! she's gonna lose votes for saying that! looking for sympathy!" but if she'd have come up with another reason for her being in the dance off people would have been asking when she was gonna realise that nobody likes her. Can't win I guess.

Normally I'd feel sorry for someone in Jamelia's position. Can't be nice finding yourself in the dance off for the 3rd time when you weren't the worst dancer. But to be honest I've limited sympathy for "telling it like it is" types, who - after saying controversial things - then discover (shock horror) that they're not that popular or not as popular as others (I'm referring here to Jamelia's 'fat-shaming' comments which were stupid and insensitive and unpleasant and peed people off).

I voted for her 17 times and didn't get offended by her comment. I know she's not popular and want her to stay in so voted.
If you watch ITT, she says how Tristan is a great cheerleader and to have a positive attitude. I feel sorry for Tristan aswell, all the work he must put in to boost her confidence and then its knocked again. I personally vote for what i see on strictly and ITT and not whats been said in the past. |

IMO, the issue isn't just that her dances are not as memorable as other, it is that viewer recall her opinions on loose woman so just won't vote for her.
At this point, you've got people who choose the underdog vote - Carole Jeremy. You've got the generic want to see them dance more vote - Jay, Anita, others and then those who just vote for the pro they like She doesn't fit into any category, and gets missed by many viewers. She may get a boost if she does really well this week, but I doubt it as her dancing isn't as good as the ones who frequent the top of the leader board. Also, although Tristan seems lovely, i'm not sure if he has acquired enough fans over the two seasons to get him through like other pros have - Anton, Pasha etc |

In addition to my points above I'd also like to say I don't watch ITT so Saturday's Strictly is the sum total of my input when I have a decision about who to vote for. She hasn't inspired me to vote for her. Then again neither have most of them. I've only voted for Anita and Jeremy so far.

She has grown on me as the show has progressed but unfortunately, that comment on Loose Women has not done her any favours. Saw a tweet saying
"Sorry Jamelia, only women who are a size 10 or 12 can vote for you" It got a lot of retweets and people agreeing with it. |

I quite like her on the show, but I thought that jive was not at all good, even by my fairly low latin dance standards! She just isn't very well disciplined in learning the specific technique required for each dance, even though she does appear to have some natural ability. So I wouldn't vote for her.
I think that except for her Charleston, her routines have been a bit dull. So people probably just don't bother to vote for her on that basis rather than active dislike. After all, Ann Widdecombe and Nancy Dell Olio both survived past their expiry date despite not being or trying to be loveable. |

I think she's the kind of person who perhaps blurts things out before thinking. I'm in two minds about the comment she made on Sunday night. On one hand it could get people feeling sorry for her and help her out vote wise, and on the other hand she may have alienated people as she kind of made the whole thing personal. Something like "I'm sorry the viewers didn't vote but I'll try hard to win them over next week" would have come across better PR wise. I can understand her exacerbation at being bottom two again but it's the name of the game that someone has to be there and there's no rule saying you can't be in the dance off more than once. She's trying hard but sometimes that's just not enough. Harsh but true.

Voting demographic of Strictly is female so you can sort of understand why that hasn't been forgotten! |

Self pity wont make people want to vote for her, the same as people wont suddenly start voting for Peter Andre (for example) if previously disliked.

I found what she said honest and that was refreshing.
She also followed her comment on being unpopular with a positive statement /attitude saying it was now in the judges hands and having failed to win over enough of the GB public, she was going to focus in the dance off on showing the four judges how much she wanted to stay in the competition. I thought that was focused and positive and not defeatist in light of her honest acknowledgment that she has not gained enough votes to be safe from the dance off. Up until then I had a quite low opinion of her. She seemed a bit lazy at first and lacked stamina, danced heavily and giggled incessantly, which is not my cup of tea. Her attitude to the dance off on saturday refreshed me so much from the usual media bleurgh that she is now on my voting horizon. That may also be true for others who would not have voted for her previously. IMO |

The problem with Jamelia is she's not a good dancer, she was over-marked and she is unlikable, she is not going to get many votes.
Her incessant giggling is irritating too, she will be gone soon. |

Along the lines of shops shouldn't stock clothes for overweight people as it makes it acceptable to be that big.

Anton has said that he thinks fat people should be shot. Which is a hell of a lot nastier than Jamelia's comments on shops stocking plus size clothing. Yet nobody seems to have held that against him.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/ar...They-shot.html it does seem a tad hypocritical to crucify jamelia for it but forgive Anton because he says "har har marvellous" a lot and does a lovely waltz |
