No idea whether it's true of course...
Obviously Aliona decided the time was right!

I'd say the latter.

But nice that it went to a good home anyway.
agreed no need to pretend or imagine he actually grew princess hair specially to donate it...

there's nothing actually wrong with having the hair of a IVth form chemisty student.

if you're a IVth form chemistry student. ...

You'd probably have to ask him personally for a definitive answer, but my understanding is he intentionally grew it for that reason. As I said, a lovely gesture. It's nice when 'celebs' decide they're going to do something for charity and then actually follow through and do it. Not all of them do
Jay's been patron of this charity since 2012 and raises money for them.

Difficult to have sleek hair when you have a head of curls - but the jive "do" was a part wig I gather.
Hair straighteners? Gel? I'm not actually advocating it. I think he looks fine as he is. There was just a lot of silly talk (not from him) about him now having a ballroom dance hairstyle, and I wouldn't say curly hairsyles are the norm for men in ballroom dancing.

I've absolutely no doubt the hair chopping was done first and foremost with nothing but honourable, genuine intentions on his part from the start. . He appears to be a guy who - rather than talking the talk about his favoured charities (like some ) goes out of his way to actually make a different in trying to help those people.

But yeah, he got his hair cut for Strictly (?) or Aliona 'told' him to do it!

He didn't 'get his hair cut for Strictly'. He had be growing it for sometime then chopped it off to donate to the Little Princess Trust. They use the real hair to make wigs for children who have cancer and other conditions which cause them to lose their hair. Pretty lovely gesture!

If you're not careful you'll be outed as another deranged middle-aged woman who only likes Jay because her ovaries are doing all the thinking for her.

did he actually grow it for the princesses, or did he just decide to donate it to them when aliona convinced him that the IVth form chemistry student look was not a good one...
He said on ITT that he was going to cut it at the end of the year and donate it to the charity, it just got done a little earlier.

OT: Chris Rock made a fascinating documentary called "Good Hair" all about -funnily enough- hair. In it, he looks at the hair extensions industry and how most of it comes from hair donated in India. However, some people actually steal it by surreptitiously cutting some women's hair in such places as cinemas. Excellent doc. I recommend it.

I'll have you know I've had a couple of Wanted songs on my iTunes for quite some time now!

He is cute as a button, but he's not my usual type! Another reason I might like him, besides my ovaries of course, could be that he's just lovely and a thoroughly decent chap. They do exist, I'm sure if it! It's pretty obvious he's not terribly interested in a mass of publicity. And he's not particularly active on social media. He also doesn't give 5 trillion inane interviews per week! Especially when compared to another male on the show.

Jay is only dull to those people that like over excessive gurning, hamming it up, faux sincerity, camera hogging and cheese fests! IMO!
Support for Kellie and in particular Peter on the forum is incredibly low. Far more likely that people who don't like Jay like Anita, Georgia, Jeremy, Helen, or even Katie. But I guess it's harder to make constant pass-agg digs about those contestants and about how their fans are gullible morons etc etc etbloodycetra

Bib , of course he and ali are at the back , hiding and hand holding or cuddling like two teenagers . They won't want THAT behaviour up front and visible .
This "pushing forward" rubbish is a load of nonsense . What do you want those not cuddling in corners to do exactly
? Draw lots every week, take part in a public vote for frontsies ? Whoever is at the front is at the front , simple as that , and if they have a bit of fun in them and aren't dull and otherwise occupied like jay and ali they mess about and have a laugh .
I don't even believe the rumours that jali are an item , but flippin heck they don't half set themselves up .
Gosh you really are anti-Jay, aren't you? You chastise those you think are spreading what you perceive to 'vile' rumours but are happy to fuel ridiculous and untrue rumours yourself? That's weird

You take every change you can to take a swipe at Jay and Aliona, but lecture from a lofty height at those you decide are not being fair on other contestants? Like Andre?

You constantly make veiled comments about other posters and threads 'spilling' bile, but you could give a masterclass on how to do it yourself.

You can't have it both ways. If we respect your right to have an opinion you really need to respect everyone else's right to have theirs, amelia lee included!

there is a marked difference with the ones with some experience in dance and those who have non ,
the only 'absolute beginners' left are Jeremy and Carol.

All the others have some sort of dance experience, be it dance school or private lessons a la abbey clancey.
you would be naïve or one-eyed to think otherwise!

You know I rarely venture out of the NAT because of sense of deja vu seeing the same posters post the same thing every single week, and here we are yet again on a Friday with the same posters determined to imagine a relationship between a recently married woman and a younger man, given that it is the same posters who have been answered exactly the same way for weeks now, how about not responding anymore?

The fact that they choose to take strong exception to anyone suggesting that the rumours are as a result of a PR company tells me all I need to know about them.

The fact that it seems to them OK to try and undermine someone's marriage rather than actually countenance the fact that a man and woman can actually have a non sexual relationship is something I fail to understand.

Monkseal I don't care whether it is someone's fans or a PR company that is likely to be behind it but I find the whole thing sleazy and really I am only commenting now because the circular nature of these arguments surely has to stop sometime.

How about perhaps we could have 24 hours a week without sleaze?

is that counting or not counting the ladies of the NAT? what with 'climbing him like a tree', slobbering over the imaginary house slaves, and gleefully speculating about peter andre 'whoring' out his children/life/wife, i think motes and beams might be an issue...

Thanks for that. I wasn't aware of his involvement with the charity. I do think he was wise to cut it though when he did as it was a little distracting but what a great way for him to focus attention on this lovely charity while he has the Strictly spotlight.

Nice one, Jay.

I really do find this post hilarious.

From someone who refers to a contestant as a "vulgar little wannabe diva" who induces shadenfreude and a panellist as "intensely irritating and really quite stupid" I hardly think you have any authority to dictate what others should or shouldn't be saying about people on the show.

The majority of your posts on this forum reek of sanctimony and utter derision towards those who have a different opinion to you.

Re paragraph 2. I posted commenting on the post you mentioned. I commented because it was a post concerning on 'those' rumours that took the opportunity to make a suggestion regarding another contestant ( or their pr). It just isn't necessary to attack another celeb while defending another. What that tells you about me I do not know.

I think Ann Dancer in her post summed it up perfectly (sorry can't quote again, posting is hard enough at the moment). And, for the record, I like Jay, he's not my favourite but I have nothing against him and wouldnt mind if he won.

Or neither, unless we're attributing every time the papers have got excited that a popular partnership might be shagging, right back to Martin & Erin and Brendan & Natasha, to CAN Management.
