It's just appeared. I'm losing 3/4" of screen real estate on my 15.6" laptop screen.

Since I have 2" of Browser Bookmarks, Menu and Toolbars and a Double Height Taskbar, it's really intrusive

I DON'T WANT IT.

What to do?
It's terrible. You need a spy glass to see the smiles now.

Lucky you can see anything, the whole of the forums just disappeared on me
Has just happened to me, the only way I could see anything was to change it to the mobile site

The threads are hard to see too. I like to know which ones I've posted in, but it's difficult to see now.

Don't care about smilies, they're not for me.

I don't like the black flash between page loads though. My only actual complaint.

Hello all

Thanks for the reports. The shrunken imagery (smilies, forum status text, thread status etc) are unintended. The mobile skin having two navigation bars is also unintended.

We've passed on all the above as well as pages intermittently not loading to our tech team.

Thanks

Oh, well... there you have it. After months of testing, it wasn't tested properly. You can all relax now.

what about all the error messages like THIS if you try to visit any part of the site in chrome?

and the blank pages like THIS if you don't use a proxy server routed through romania?

The last problem would be pages not loading, the nav bar not linking to the correct pages should be fixed very shortly. Thanks!

I can't see anything at all on Chrome, had to switch to the mobile site. What a disaster. You don't change anything to the front end of a site until you know it bloody works. Amateurish stuff!

Get rid of the black bar mods, it's intrusive and not at all needed. We are all perfectly capable of scrolling to the top of the page should we ever want to navigate to one of your news pages. It's especially bad when you accidentally hover your mouse over it and it expands.

The mobile font change is awful as well.
I post from my mobile and really like it, much better IMO.

As a web designer I don't understand why people are always up in arms over website updates. It happens all the time ,especially huge websites like DS will always make changes and updates to the design

And unexpected bugs and broken links are an occupational hazard to such changes.

I don't always like change either. You get used to a certain way of navigating the site, the way it looks etc, but things change. For what it's worth... I like the update

Same here, using Chrome.

Edit:Ah, needed to clear the cache. Seems fine after doing that. I like the new look.

Blue font on black is difficult to read so makes the top black bar a bit pointless when you can't read it!

I get only the black 'beta' bar with white screen below on my ipad (0S 9.1) when i try to access the DS forums. I had to go on my laptop instead which is deeply inconvenient to say the least!!

I got that once. I refreshed my browser. Sorted.

We just have to flush out the gremlins and before we know it, this design will not be new anymore.

Try clearing your cache on the iPad.
