can anyone explain what the 1-2 second of total blackness is about everytime you do anything at all?

Urgh, I though it was gone. You don't need a static bar on your site DS. It brings no benefit to your users.
Oh great now the top banner is black and following me down the page. Any chance of getting rid of that, don't want screen burn thanks.
Edit: Nevermind, got rid of it myself. Only use the forums anyway so it's of no use to me.

Yes, it's that - but it still grabs a chunk of my screen real-estate which I do not want!
The first person to say how to get rid of it wins the prize.
Browser bar plus black DS title bar plus adverts now pushes the first line of all thread text completely off the flipping screen, which is STUPID web design! And all that's on 100% text size - but I and I am sure many others use expanded text, 125%, so even worse!!!
Pages also jump about for a few seconds after going to a new page GRRR.
Why are the forums narrower?
Why are the smileys now pin sized? (and bring back rolleyes smiley PC brigade!)
Why is there no padding on the left and right?
Why are parts of the forums overlapping?
Why can't DS properly test stuff before putting it out there?
Why are they not seeing what we are seeing?

just discovered that if you turn on script blocking in the purify content blocker in safari, it basically turns the black bar in to a static banner that doesn't follow you down the page. that'll do me

Didn't DS learn from the WIndows 8 debarcle? rolleyes
This design is most suitable for touch-screen devices.
In trying to get all users they only end up alienating those they already have.
If those users are already sick of the site they might well look around for another forum that isn't so commercial.

I can just imagine them in their office. The updates aren't working and the natives dont even want them. And on a Monday too.

I'm on chrome. I just had to clear my cookies and it's working fine now.
This has just popped up in my browser, it is awful, takes up far too much of the screen, if I want headers I will scroll up to the top to click on them, I dont need them in my face all of the time. It has made the forum narrower too, what a mess.
