On dancing ability:
1. Caroline & Pasha - by far the best dancers (who won) and loved their 'journey' to get there 2. Alesha & Matthew - changed strictly for the better (until she became a judge) 3. Kara & Artem 4. Harry & Aliona 5. Jill & Darren 6. Louis & Flavia 7. Mark & Karen 8. Abbey & Aljaz 9. Chris & Ola 10. Tom & Camilla 11. Natasha & Brendan 12. Darren & Lilia Though my personal favourite was Alesha, and I couldn't contain my enthusiasm when she won! |

Alesha - the woman, the legend
Kara - probably my favourite set of dances from any winner ever, particularly towards the end when she was knocking it out of the park every week. Just a bit less of a personality than Alesha so she hasn't endured quite as much for me Mark - pretty much the perfect blend between Talent Contestant and Journey Contestant Harry - likable chap, excellent ballroom, boring forgettable latin, hot as blazes Caroline - it took far too long for her personality to shine through, and her ballroom dances were always pants but when she let her batshit emotionally incontinent side show, it was a fun ride Louis - I loved his dynamic with Flavia and quite a few of his dances but the forced "NOW HE'S A PERFORMER!" story arc was so clunky as to be farcical Jill - cold hard unlikeable shiny ringer who downplayed her experience to the point where I'd be tempted to call it lying, but (the original) That Jive I think was the thing that really sparked Strictly into life and got it started on the road to becoming the phenomenon it is now, so she's got that gooing for her. Tom - like Jill, but even less likable, and his peaks were less frequent and less exciting. Also Camilla at his side spending the entire series snivelling like a psychotic dishrag has to be taken into consideration Abbey - more likable than the two above, and a stronger dancer than she's given credit for, but any of the other three women in the Series 11 final would have made an amazing winner and I resent her for crowding them out with her blandness Chris - Pretty poor dancer in a pretty poor series, and his natural charm was sullied by just how manufactured and processed and...X Factor the whole TEAM COLA YEAH BABY MRS JORDAN stuff was. Darren - Effing Wardrobe Natasha - clearly hated evry minute, wasn't a great dancer, thought the Brenda romance was incredibly naff, and was only a "good winner" because the alternative was unthinkable |

For me it is.....
1. Jill Halfpenny - produced the best dance I have seen on Strictly. 2. Mark Ramprakash - produced the second best dance I have seen on Strictly. 3. Caroline Flack - scored 40 four times, more than any other competitor has done. 4-10 (in chronological order only) Natasha Kaplinsky, Darren Gough, Alesha Dixon, Kara Tointon, Harry Judd, Louis Smith, Abbey Clancy. I know many people have described Kara Tointon as being the best winner of all, but for me the lack of a single maximum score means she can't receive that honour. Just my opinion, of course; and Kara is not the only series winner who did not register a perfect score. Incidentally, Pamela Stephenson scored 40 thrice in that series but finished outside of the top two. 11. Chris Hollins - not the best dancer in the series (that distinction fell to Ricky Whittle, whose twenty-eight 10s remains a record but there was a fifth judge present during that series) 12. Tom Chambers - not even the second best dancer in the series (Lisa Snowdon scored 40 thrice and Rachel Stevens twice). |

1. Louis & Flavia : I was especially happy for Flavia to be a winner and her and Louis had some great routines. Faves are Zombie Tango, Charleston, Fusion, Salsa and the amazing showdance. He ended up a really good dancer and often said in interviews how much he loved being on Strictly and would love to have been able to carry on dancing afterwards.
2. Alesha & Matthew : I was a massive Matt and Flavia fan but also loved Alesha and Gethin that year and although I think Matt outdanced Alesha in the final, she was a really worthy winner and I loved her performances throughout the series. Particular faves were her Cha Cha, Waltz, VW and Tango. 3. Kara & Artem : Kara came across as really likeable girl next door type. She was a lovely dancer and I always looked forward to seeing her each week. Faves were AS, Rumba and VW. 4. Abbey & Aljaz : I enjoyed watching her and Aljaz... probably more Aljaz if I'm honest Plus I had a bet on her to be the winner and won £160 as a result Particular faves were Waltz, VW, AS... I liked most of her ballroom actually.5. Harry & Aliona : I liked both Harry and Chelsee this year so I wasn't too bothered who won between them. He was a lovely ballroom dancer though but not so much latin. Fave routines were Tango, QS, AS and VW. 6. Caroline & Pasha : Again I had a bet on her to win so was supporting her for that reason. I actually liked her as a personality even before SCD so I was happy enough for her to win. Fave routines were Charleston although other than that I can't really pick any stand out favourites. It wasn't a great year actually.7. Tom & Camilla : By the end of this series I really wanted Rachel and Vincent to win as I thought she was a lovely dancer. Tom had some pretty good routines though and his QS is one I remember liking. 8. Chris & Ola I don't actually remember too much about this year but I didn't particularly like Ricky and Natalie so was rooting for a Chris win. Quite a rubbish year but I do remember liking his Rumba and of course who could forget their Charleston. These are all the series I've commented on as I only started watching regularly from Series 5. |

(Going to leave out the first three winners, because I haven't really seen enough of them/didn't watch their series - I can't imagine that I'd rank any of them particularly highly though)
Alesha Dixon Mark Ramprakash Harry Judd Caroline Flack Kara Tointon Tom Chambers -----(people I still liked and was pleased for, but can't get too excited about)---- Louis Smith Chris Hollins (I liked him, but there really weren't many viable alternatives) Abbey Clancy (I liked her a lot, but considering series 11 was one of my favourite series, she was such an underwhelming winner - she didn't really have much of an arc although the standard of her dancing meant she was deserving) Overall though, I don't think I've ever been disappointed in a winner (which is more than I can say for other shows) |

I only started watching towards the end of S5 and I wasn't fussed who won that so my list starts with S6......
1) Chis Hollins - clearly I'm in the minority but he remains my favourite Strictly winner and his Charleston my favourite dance (until Jay's jive anyway) 2) Caroline Flack - The only other winner that I actually wanted to win. 3) Abbey Clancy - My pick Sophie had already gone so at this point it was "anyone but Susanna" for me and Abbey was a better result than Natalie would of been 4) Louis Smith - Kimberley was my pick but I'd much rather Louis had won and not Denise 5) Kara Tointon - Was very much a Gavin fan that series but Kara was the right result come the final. 6) Harry Judd - I really wanted Chelsee to win so Harry winning was a let down. Rather him than Jason though |

Looking here at how few people have chosen "journey winners" (ie Chris &Darren) as their favourites, I do hope that the media speculation about how Jeremy or Katie could win this is the pure hype that I suspect it is. It'd be entertaining if one of them got to the final, but I'd find it such a damp squib in the cold light of day, months and years later, if they actually won.
