1) Harry - likeable, great ballroom dancer and his Latin was always entertaining. Consistently very good.
2) Alesha - great personality, great dancing, not a great judge though.
3) Abbey - thought her ballroom was magical and I thought her nerves were real, and it was nice to see her overcome them. Also she beat Natalie and Susanna which was great news for me.
4) Kara - would have liked Scott to win, but in the end Kara really won me over with her charm and great dancing to boot.
5) Jill - at the time her Jive was a revelation, I was 10 or 11 when she competed and she really got me into Strictly.
6) Darren - I liked him, but can see why others thought he was a bit of a disappointing winner.
7) Chris - for the Charleston alone.
8) Mark - one of the most overrated contestants ever in my opinion.
9) Caroline - ballroom was shocking and she didn't get it in the neck as much as Pixie despite having dance training.
10) Louis - came across as very self entitled and thought he was too cool for the experience. I didn't like Flavia either and their Showdance was a nice gymnastic routine but not a dance.
11) Natasha - I can't really remember her, but from what I do remember she seemed like the only option to win from the get go so was underwhelming.
12) Tom - the less said the better.

Mark - for me his dancing was the most exciting the show has ever been, so far.
Louis - loved him and Flavia - only other time my favourite has won.
Alesha - great dancer and beautiful partnership with Matthew
Jill - great dancer
Kara - again a great dancer and also lovely person but I didn't love Artem's choreography that much so I didn't see what other people did
Harry - he was good but he wasn't Chelsee
Chris - good rumba and Ola's finest hour imo
Darren - didn't like him at all but did love Lilia

Abbey, Caroline, Tom - think I'd stopped watching by the final those years, probably flouncing

Natasha - didn't watch it then.

My ranking is mostly subjective and based on the fact on how much I liked the contestant and was so happy of their win.

1-Abbey clancy : To say how happy I was is an understatement...most shocking result for me because I couldnt believe it ..I was so, so, so happy for her

2-Alesha Dixon : Loved her; Magical partnership with Matthew; All of her dances were memorable : TEAM MATHEESHA
3-Kara Tointon : Ha....the dance and the fairytale, what's not to like ?
4-Chris Hollins : mostly happy for Ola.
5-Mark :So far, my favorite male winner EVER .
6-Harry : only because I was so happy for Aliona
7-Louis : Only because I was so, so, so happy for Flavia
8-Darren : Meh...
9-Tom...Meh
10-Caroline : couldnt warm up to her at all; I was happy for Pasha but that's it. One of the worst series imo.
11- Natasha : Cant remember anything about her so she's just last by default

Didn't watch until Alesha's year so can't comment on winners prior to this. My Dad was pleased when Darren Gough won, though, as he's a big Yorkshire cricket fan!

Not on dancing ability just how happy I was to see them win (often for the pro more than the celebrity).

Pretty much the same order except my ovaries put both Mark and Harry above Alesha and Kara.
Seriously, I deprecate the advance of the ringahs so Mark is my hero. He even made Karen's gurning bearable. I love his devotion to the programme compared to pretty much all the other winners (Louis probably excepted) - years after victory doing the tour he was still good. I surprised myself by voting for Harry in his final after supporting Chelsee all the way up until her disastrous performances at the final hurdle - for me it was the only exciting final - usually its all over bar the shouting at that stage.

For me

1 Alesha - an absolute joy to watch irrespective of technical ability

2 Kara - for sheer dance ability simply unmatched

3 Mark - a real journey from shy unassuming guy to a real performer

4 Darren - I'm a Yorkshire girl so I loved how he showed that big burly blokes could "dance" (but would have been equally happy if Colin Jackson had won that year instead)

5 Louis - some amazing lifts and athleticism

6 Chris - simply entertaining irrespective of ability

7 Caroline - liked how she grew out of her shell to turn in some cracking performances

8 Harry - bit of a boring personality but some lovely routines from Aliona

9 Natasha - first one so it was a novelty

10 Abbey - the odd flair of brilliance in combination with some utter crap

11 Jill - total ringer

12 Tom - bored me rigid during my least favourite series of all

I agree with most of this especially the comments about the gorgeous Mark Ramprakash.
Couldn't STAND Alesha Dixon and was thrilled when she left the judging panel.

I can't believe so many people rate Louis so high. he was one of the worst winners, both Kimberley and Denise were miles better than him that year.

The best winner that never was, was Pixie.

I have never agreed with any of the winners, though i did route for Abbey and Harry.

Indeed as her average score was 36.9 which is the highest average ever, but she didn't have the vote stats to win.

Natalie Gumede and Pixie Lott were the best dancers on SCD ever.

The rest were all kind of "blegh" for me. These are the only times the one I liked won, usually the person I seriously don't want to win is the one to take the glitter ball.

Didn't see the first two series so can't comment on Natasha or Jill (though loved that jive on YouTube!)

Most years I'm pi**ed off with "The Winner" because I was cheering on their competitors!

Loved Matt and Aliona and feel any other year (apart from the Kara/Artem love in year) he would have won (despite the dodgy show dance!)

Tom Chambers and Camilla made my skin crawl
Vincent and Rachel blew them out of the water
Did't watch the final because of the vote rigging by the BBC, suddenly all 3 made the final???????? Poor show!

Did not rate Abbey Clancey, too sloppy and liked all the other girls in the final better.

Chris Hollins and Darren Gough prove it's an entertainment show rather than a dance completion. Didn't mind.

Did not like Louis Smith much.
