BIB: On what basis do you assert that? If you have no basis, then what you say is just another opinion masquerading as fact.
Yes, production logistics and scripts are two different things. Is it not possible that a distaste for the series setting is skewing your view of the production mechanics and schedule? Calling production a "car crash" at this point is wild exaggeration. |

Klingons!
https://twitter.com/startrekcbs/stat...87997582299136 The first is Chris Obi (Roots) as T’Kuvma, a leader seeking to unite the Klingon houses. The second is Shazad Latif (Penny Dreadful) who will play Kol, a Klingon Commanding Officer, and protege of T’Kuvma. And the third is newcomer Mary Chieffo as L’Rell, the Battle Deck Commander of a Klingon ship. |

Hopefully this news will calm down all those people who were ranting about the Discovery having a Klingon Captain.

Well I sure hope the Klingon ship is of a better design than the Discovery.
![]() Also wondering whether they'll be TOS Klingons, TNG Klingons, or JJ Klingons ... maybe something else entirely? |

Star Trek: Diversity
It's a bit late to the party, Donald Trump's Star Trek would be a sight to behold for sure. "I'm gonna keep those Klingons behind a space wall!, 100million parsecs long, very important to do that" "Keeping jobs on Earth!, no outsourcing to Uranus..." |

If they ever get round to filming it, we'll see then!
I do wonder though whether Netflix will have the gall to call it "A Netflix Original", as they sure like to plaster their brand all over the products of others when they show them. The best it could be really (in foreign territories outside the US) is "A Netflix Exclusive".

It'd be the biggest Dyson Sphere anyone's ever seen, though

You could argue that up to this point that Star Trek hasn't been diverse enough.

Is there enough time for its rescheduled airing with that date?

You could argue that up to this point that Star Trek hasn't been diverse enough. White Anglo Saxon men probably make up no more than 5% of the world's population but have so far been the lead 3 times out of 5.

Considering they make up the majority of viewers, it's hardly surprising really, is it?
I'm not someone that believes in diversity for diversity sake, but if you have a show about a future in which mankind has come together to explore the galaxy then it makes sense that the crew is going to be pretty diverse. |

That's a fair point for previous shows but is it true now? Isn't Star Trek pretty massive globally?

I fear for all Trek fans that just like big the Orange fella, the new series may be a big puff ball of nothingness. If you take a look at the Voyager and Deep Space Nine episodes now, most of them look exactly the same and and are comatose-inducing viewing.
