Friday's EE was a real test of credibility.

At one stage there were four adults in that tiny kitchen - three of them weren't Gavin. He held that lighter open with the flame glowing for so long it should either have run out of fuel or at least burned his hand!

Surely it would only have taken one puff from Kathy to extinguish the meagre little flame and the others could have lunged at Gavin and overpowered him. Either that, or someone could have lunged at the box of fireworks, scattering them all over the floor, making it well nigh impossible for Gavin to ignite one.

Time to get some realism back into our favourite soap before we decide enough's enough and let it go for good!

I thought it wasn't possible to blow out a zippo lighter.

That and knock over the table so the flame isn't near the fireworks.

It isn't: they're wind proof. The first attempt would have alerted Gavin.

If you blow vertically down on the flame it will go out. However, in the circumstance of the scene in question, that would have been a tad difficult to pull off, you're right!

Knocking the box over and scattering the fireworks would have been the best option. Then of course Phil could have opened the window and got help instead of messing about with a coat hanger.

It was a Zippo and they don't burn for that long. All anyone needed to do was put their hand over the flame for a second to put it out.

Bloody ridiculous - even for a soap!

It was a zippo so it was impossible to blow it out. It might have made it worse if Kathy moved as Gavin could have accidentally lit the fireworks.
