Because imo I am I can't help but giggle when I see their face and mouth and their tentacles especially their face it looks like their choking in a rubber suit, but maybe thats just me :/

The outfits are embarrassingly hokey, it must be said.

I take ALL Who monsters seriously. Including The Absorbalof, the Mandrels, The Zarbi, the big fly creatures from Planet of the Dead, the Cyber wotsits from The Next Doctor and the hairy thingy from Androids of Tara. Deadly seriously.

What about the big penis creature in Creature from the Pit?

Is that its official name?

Even as a kid pre fan geek time, I thought that was a bit weird! And even as a ten year old I thought Tom was being particularly silly in that story. I saw Alpha
Centurai in a repeat of Curse of Peladon a few years later and giggled a bit....still love that story, mind.

Their faces appear to be separate from their costume. The faces move within the head of the costume, which looks a bit rubbish.
I think the design is okay, but the execution is awful.

Completely agree but as others have said its pretty much all Who creatures that make me cringe a bit ...

Except maybe Ood, Silence, Whisper Men, Clock Droids and Hand Mines.

That's so lame. Why have a creature that looks like a penis when you can have a creature that simultaneously looks like a glans and a vulva:

It is strange that these shapeshifters which seem like a real threat and quite powerful emotionally (the mother scene outside the church) then are revealed to be quite humorous and funny looking. But then again they might think the same about us, who says all monsters have to look scary?

I actually think the 1975 versions look better than the 2015 ones.

Agree. And sounded better. Also, Broton stood out as a character, helped by the fact that the fine actor John Woodnutt was under the rubber. Only halfway, but there haven't been moments as disturbingly effective as Sarah being attacked in the cliffhanger or the distressed Zygon screaming out on the floor of the barn yet, IMO.

Because their faces seem to move freely within the costume they remind me a bit of those big boards with paintings of figures on them at the seaside where there's a hole where their faces are supposed to be, where you put your own head through and you get a funny photograph taken of yourself.

It's their bottoms when they run that make me laugh. It's like they suddenly become a monster from The Goodies.

Yes, without a doubt. Also, the '75 ones had different facial features; Broton had a broad nose, the female Zygon (Lamont) had a short peaky nose, almost button-like and pursed lips, the other main male Zygon had a broad mouth.
Today, the main Zygons all seem to have the same face with no subtle differences.
The enlarged frontal lobe seems to have lost a bit of its creepy overhang, as too the bent spine, all of which are embryo-like and the very thing that the look of the creature was based on.

Absolutely agree with this. The snarling mouth and fangs of the newer Zygons is OTT and somewhat incongruous with the original design.

Quite so.

As others have said, the snarling mouths are out of place.

I agree, the 70's version were epic. I also think it benefited from a really good writer. Old school writers had more talent IMO. They could move from Dr WHo to any drama because they wrote a story that gave any character depth - even Broton. He was a character played by a good actor.

The new zygons are just monsters with no real threat. They look ridiculous. They could have made a sequel to Terror of the Zygons instead of a sequel to Day of the Doctor.

I also agree the new UNIT characters are awful. They are not fleshed out enough compared to the 'family' from the 70's.

Just like the Sontarans and Silurians, I now wish the Zygons had never returned.
