Bupsi - It was the song that let me down

Is she right? Was it purely song choice or do you think she was doomed regardless?

she was kinda doomed regardless, but the song certainly didn't help...

The bad song choice saw her go from "probably going to go" to "definitely going to go".

Bupsi was put through as a fun, novelty type act, yet Simon gave her a song that in no way played to that. It would be a bit like if Cheryl had given Reggie n Bollie "Unchained Melody" and got them to sing it seriously while sitting on stools and no backing track to sing the song for them.

have to agree , she did her best with that song that didn't show off her character
she need to belt out a song with oomph . Simon let her down badly,

whether and different song would have saved her is debatable ,but she would of stood a better chance , my guess the voting was very close , as it normally is in the first weeks

why didn't she object and say she wanted to sing something else then like a few of the other acts seemed to do ?

all we can judge her on is the performance she actually did which was flat, lifeless and vocally poor

If she had any fans, they'd be claiming she was thrown under the bus for *insert popular contestant here*.

Yeah her song sucked, but ultimately, so did she.

Her excuse was she didn't want to object to Simon's choices...

I don't buy this whole 'I hated the song but trusted my mentor' nonsense.

Bupsi is a grown woman. If she really thought it was the wrong song choice, why not just say 'I don't think the song is working for me. How about we try *insert another better song*'
That's not being disrespectful of critical of Cowell, just discussing what works and what doesn't.

Tbh, she was nailed on to go first before a note had been sung so, at best, she'd have had another week or two.

I've always had the impression that only select contestants are allowed to object to song choices.........

I think she stood a good chance of going but the song sort of sealed her fate, apart from anything about 90% of the audience had never heard it before.

Vocally, I didn't think she was THAT bad? I mean, she sounded better than Reggie N Bollie, Mason and Kiera at the very least

Apparently, people watched for the first time ever just because she was on there. And ;the people' are gutted she's gone

Bupsi is a 37 year old woman, not including all those years she's been asleep. If she didn't like the song she could/should have changed it

We The People demand the return of our grand overlord of Nasty.

[Chants] D'you know what? D'you know what? D'you know what? etc etc

Bupsi said on Xtra Factor that she had no opportunity to change the song. She said:

"It's not the kind of thing you can do. You literally ... it doesn't work like this here. They suggest things to you and give you things".

It wouldn't surprise me if the whole song change thing was fake to make it look like the contestants have a say.

The song didn't matter, she was a poor Tina Turner impersonator and the nasty rubbish had already gotten old so there wasn't much to like.

Looks like Cowell will use his acts to protect the ones he wants to be in the later stages

I see she's jumping on the excuses bandwagon. I don't believe for a minute she couldn't have said she didn't like the song.

She was so much better when being a blues singer. Motown or soul just made her sound like everybody else and not stand out.

She should definitely have spoken up if she wasn't happy about the song choice - I seem to remember Jamie Afro did that. In fact they should give all contestants at least two options to pick from. It would certainly help with the performance if they are comfortable with the song.

I think with a better song more suited to her she might have managed to scrape into the sing-off rather than instant elimination but really she was always doomed to bottom 3. She was alright but I just think she wasn't really good enough in the first place to stay.

She was ripped off by ths show, as most of the black acts normally are. Shameful really.

If she was so popular she wouldn't have been bottom of the votes.

And what exactly different did she bring

Apart from a catch phrase 'You want nasty? I'll give you nasty'. And that wasn't even
unique as I'm sure people have crawled on the judges desk and sat on Simon's lap before now

I agree. I don't think she was going to avoid the bottom 3 regardless of what she sang. She shouldn't have been put through the first round, let alone made the lives. Just a run of the mill cabaret act.

Where exactly did Cowell see her as fitting into the market?
