![]() But it was the instant recovery of the Philth that ruined it for me. A 'broken man' who would be changed forever DTC said - what a load of old cobblers. |

I didn't think it was anything special?
Much preferred the episode where Kat visited the convent, personally. |

I agree. The Kat episode was absolutely epic, one of the best EE episodes of the last decade imo. I think this was ordinary in comparison.
Tonight's was meh tbh. I like Sarah Phelps' reaction on twitter though

Gavin was excellent but I agree about the retconning (although I hate that word).

It definitely wasn't the best since the live episode.
However I did enjoy Phil barrelling through the door

It was very good, but there have been several episodes since the live episode better than this one.
The Sharon/Ian heavy episode when she thought Pete was her dad. The sisters episode (focusing on Ronnie/Roxy, Denise/Kim, Shirley/Tina and Babe/Sylvie). The convent episode. The Stacey/Jean key episodes. The Marsden/Keeble heavy episode when they resumed the Lucy plot. The stillbirth episode. The Christine reveal episode. |

I hated it. First of all I really don't give a rat's ass about Sharon's history and found most of the episode tedious and ended up online with it on in the background. The bit where King Cockroach suddenly got better and swung his crutch over Gavin was ridiculous. What is Phil Mitchell, the bionic man?
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() How is he a changed man? He's hardly "broken" is he? So he got locked in a dark room with a bottle of Scotch but is now not drinking as far as I can tell. So he's regained his sobriety. Broken man?! Changed man?! How exactly? I do like Gavin as it goes and I like his relationship with Kathy as there are relationships like that where someone is controlled the way Kathy is by Gavin. However I couldn't care less about him being Sharon's dad and I hope we don't get repeats of this episode going round and round in circles. Tonight's episode was one of the worst in a long time.

I hated it. Retconning the Den/Sharon relationship is unforgivable as far as I'm concerned.
And DTC calls himself a fan of the show. |

While I thought it was a decent episode, for me it was definitely not the best since live week, Letitia was great tonight though

Even if I don't like the way this story is going, Letitia was fab tonight.
Sharon is always at her best when she's in the middle of big, dramatic plots. Glad she is finally back at the heart of the show. And I never thought I would ever see Kathy and Sharon on screen again, what a joy to have them both back. |

Tonight's episode was one of the worst in a long time. ![]() Take your pick. Compare this utterly ludicrous superthug to the small time chancer who originally arrived in the early '90's. Gavin was supposed to make Archie look like a Tellytubbie - but the Philth is now threatening him with only one functioning arm and leg. A broken man? How exactly? TPTB's bizarre worship of the Mitchell's and the Philth in particular has now become even more obvious. Angie, Den, Steve, Pauline and Pat to name but a few - all treated like dirt but by God they roll the bloody red carpet out when Peggy returns for one of her brief and embarrassing screeching sessions. Rant over!
