Blackpool should be next week (15th) but the strictly Twitter tweeted Take That are performing the week after (21st, 22nd). It should be week 8 not week 9

They've put on their FB page that Take That will be performing on 22/11/15, which in real life means Sat 21/11/15 @ Blackpool

Blackpool is driven by Children In Need which this year is the 20th I think, so it will be the 21st.

I am 100% sure BBC Strictly know what date they will be in Blackpool!

its the 21st November - the date that everyone on this thread has told you!

Actually, not this year - Children in Need is next Friday - 13th November!

No tickets confirmed or denied yet - it's usually 2 weeks out from the show date, so next week I expect. Given Take That are appearing, I've got all my fingers crossed for a ticket allocation. Mind you, so have probably all the thousands and thousands who apply for B'pool - it's the most popular show to request tickets for, by a mile (according to a show runner who stamped my tickets the last time I went - 6 years since I got a ticket!)!

i just want Georgia and Jeremy and Jay to experience Blackpool, the best dancefloor ever

The best thing about that floor is, if you get to sit in one of the side seats, and someone dances a jive or similar, you practically bounce along with them. It's sooooo springy, you can feel every jump and bounce! Awesome experience! Fingers crossed I get to do that again! Even a more sedate Viennese Waltz, when you have all the pros dancing, creates a kind of 'wave effect' rolling along the floor, as a dozen pros push and glide around. I wish everyone could experience that!

BTW, quick update, confirmations about Blackpool tickets have gone out - I didn't get any! 4.8 million requests for tickets this year though!!!!!! So, the odds are most definitely not in our favour!

aw, I havent had that notification yet

I wasnt expecting to be successful, I have applied for every show so far and had the usual rejection email telling me over 4.8 million people have applied - thats a heck of a lot of people!!!!!

EDIT: I have actually applied every year for the past 7+ years and not been successful only ever been once and that was only because a friend couldnt go and she gave me her tickets - never been successful in the random ticket draw

In the earlier series when Strictly was at the television centre, they had the biggest studio and had to move out for Children in Need

So they went to Blackpool (or for a short while Wembly).

Now Strictly is at Elstree it doesn't matter, but the Blackpool tradition has continued

Surely that still applies, Children in Need using the same studio at Elstree as Strictly, so I'm puzzled why the Blackpool trip isn't next Saturday instead of the 21st?

When I went to Strictly at the Tower a few years ago I got the e-mail on the Tuesday. Good job I live within sight of Blackpool Tower!
I thought at the time that it would be pretty short notice for anyone who had to arrange time off work and travel and a hotel and childcare or dog-care and whatever else they might have to arrange.

I went to a dance there once. there were lots of couples on the dance floor and standing watching it you could see it bobbing up and down. Its lovely to dance on, the legs last so much longer than on other surfaces.
