Huddle 2 - Getting rid of Google search bar (without Rooting or launcher)?

Hello there,

I'm setting up a couple of Huddle 2's for my children's Christmas presents and am loving them apart from I cannot seem to get rid of the Google search bar (have tried stopping Google + and also Google Search with no luck).

I was wondering if there is any way of getting rid of it without rooting or changing the launcher as I do not want the risk of interfering with the Child Protection mode (as that's the whole reason we went for the Huddle's)?

Thanks, Mark.

I use the Google Now Launcher and have just tried Child Safety with no issues - I turned off internet searches in the Child Safety app settings and my searches (in child's profile) via the Google and Google Voice widgets were interrupted. The Child Safety browser also insisted I get permissions from my parents when I searched for "cheese". Entering the PIN allowed me as the parent to preview the cheese results and choose allow or deny.

Seems to work just fine. You could also try the same with a non Google launcher I guess as Child Safety appears to cope.

EDIT: Child Safety *appears* to turn off other launchers and default to the Tesco one anyway (with the Tesco stuff disabled). I assume this as Google Now Launcher appears as a disabled app.

The Google widgets survived but are interrupted by Child Safety as described above.
