How big is Earth in Eastenders?
Seriously the world is a huge place but in Eastenders it's no smaller than a gold fish bowel.
For instance Gavin knew Den, Angie, Ted, Vincents father and Eric Mitchell. Then he moves to south Africa and then many years later Kathy moves out there too and out of all people she randomly meets him there and they get married. It's so unrealistic and coincidental it's making a laughing stock of the show. |

Wasn't Ted said to have introduced Kathy to Gavin?
Pimping his own sister out to a psychopath

Did you mean bowl? A goldfish bowel is very, very small, I would imagine.

What if Eric was Gavin's friend? Or Henry's? What if Den had only met Eric once or twice and didn't get on with him? What if Den knew nothing about Eric and his family? Then over 30 years later he meets a man named Phil Mitchell and is expected to connect the dots? |

You're taking a photo with them both in it and creating something which could be nothing.
What if Eric was Gavin's friend? Or Henry's? What if Den had only met Eric once or twice and didn't get on with him? What if Den knew nothing about Eric and his family? Then over 30 years later he meets a man named Phil Mitchell and is expected to connect the dots? Now just because he knew him, it doesn't mean he knew his family, either met them or even knew the details of wife and kids and Mitchell is a fairly common name so he might not have made an immediate connection. But we saw Den investigate Phil in 2003, ask around, get as much info as possible so he will have learnt the name of his Dad then and he'd have to be pretty thick if he didn't remember Eric at that point. Again gang implies a group of people that work as a group, either professionally (in this case it would be criminally) or friends. Also, as mentioned, there is the Frim, Dalton, Jonny Allen connection which iDen was told of Eric's connection to them, he'd know it was the same man. But as discussed elsewhere, some of it will be down to what individual viewers believe is credible as to what people do and don't discuss and we can therefore assume would have been know by friends, family, colleagues whether shown on screen or not. |
