Bit of a nosy question here, but what music does your family like?

Mum - she grew up with rock n roll, was into a lot of the early 80s pop like Bucks Fizz now it's more things like Adele

Dad - glam rock, punk rock, new wave and hair metal and heavy metal

Older sister - a mix of urban, indie and rock.

My other sister things like Adele, Ed Sheeran.

Brother - rap, some old school reggaee

Auntie - reggae and dancehall stuff...yes even the stuff that talks about women's vaginas.
Uncles - one likes reggae and rock n roll, the other rock n roll.

Mum - ABBA, Boney M, Nana Mouskouri, Katherine Jenkins, Tom Jones, Welsh choirs, Celtic Woman, James Last, oldies Irish favourites (eg Joe Dolan, Daniel O'Donnell , Showbands, The Dubliners, The Wolfe Tones [rebel songs], The Clancy Brothers), Andre Rieu, Andrea Bocelli, Rod Stewart, Eurovision (mostly older songs), German Schlager, Strauss, Ben Haenow off last year's X Factor, Westlife, some Lady Gaga songs, some Britney songs

Dad - Opera choirs, James Last, The Carpenters, The Bee Gees, German marching bands, Katy Perry, Britney, Taylor Swift (his favourite songs are Blank Space and Bad Blood), classical music etc.

Don't know about my extended family's music tastes.

my mum is a huge r'n'b fan. she loves en vogue, mary j blige, luther vandross etc. she also loves country music.

my dad is into rock music. elvis, the eagles, aerosmith, paul young etc

my siblings are all into mainstream top 40 stuff basically.

i'm a combination of all of them. i love r'n'b and country, i'm a huge admirer of pop music but i also like more alternative pop like lana, halsey, melanie martinez, banks and blood orange. i also love soul and rap. i basically like anything that isn't heavy metal.

My mum loves Motown and anything from the 60's. My dad loves Elvis and bands like The Who and The Clash. My siblings like rap and pop music. I'm the only one who was influenced by what our parents listened to.

Quite an electic mix there!! My family it's like a patchwork of musical styles! I'm vary varied - anything from pop, soul, R and B (new and old stuff), motown, indie, rock, alternative and even a bit of classical. I do like reggae as well, but not as hardcore as my aunt. Also not prone to hip-hop, but the more British stuff and as I was growing up (young adult) I was into The Streets and things like that.

My father is a great fan of Louis Armstrong, Jack Teagarden, Django Reinhardt, Bing Crosby, Bob Crosby and especially, Sidney Bechet. He also likes some of the old blues artists such as Bessie Smith and Billie Holiday.

I started to compile compilations for him to listen to while he was in hospital and discovered some magnificent music that would otherwise have passed me by. Here is my favourite. Petite Fleur by Sidney Bechet.
