I know that was bizarre! She is useless at pricing and 'not being great at mental arithmatic" is not a get out clause. Don't put yourself forward as a Sales person if you can't grasp that basic, intrinsic part of the process.

There was a week when he was very funny, but he's lost it along the way. Also feel that Jack could bring a lot more fun to the show than he does.

Richard is an obnoxious fool who can sell, sometimes. Charleine did well to neutralise him, but then failed to use her sales people to pitch her big pitch. Her basic decision not to employ him was the right one though - she had better sales options too.

Did we see anyone work out any percentages? Brett did the prices . They knew his prices . They just couldn't answer the question what that meant in terms of profit margins . All that really told us was that the shopkeeper was too thick to work them out themselves.

Because Brett is thick, and that sub team inded hadn't sold its stock. The alternative was somone else who made mistakes, and that argument wasn't developed that much.

What was the point of the audio books? If they weren't being judged on that aspect wasn't it just a complete waste of time?

She could have done it in a less obviously demeaning and therefore provoking way in my opinion. She did not need to make him sub team leader at all.

Brett offered to step in to provide the percentages. I don't much like him but i think he did his best there.

A Sales team should be able to answer any question asked of them. Why should the shop keeper go to the trouble of working it out for herself when they should have been able to do it for her? Yes, maybe it does indicate she was too thick or lazy to do it but she was the buyer and the customer is always right.

Was it brought up? They pointed out she had gone from 150 to 50, but not the price cut .

Its very difficult to give self important incompetent people something to do, but then sideline them so they are kept away from whats important. You would invent a pompous sounding role for them - like deputy leader, or chief of resarch , and then either do it yourself, or parcel the real jobs out ot other. people. There's no such jobs available in The Apprentice. Arguably realising he would be more of a problem, if sulking with nothing to do, was quite smart - although perhaps not exceptionally so, as he had done it before.

I can't see Brett offering any percentages or offering to step in with them later - why would he just not say anyway if he knew.? the boys just offer to take over - there's no evidence they could answer the question asked either.

Karen is talking nonsense - what we see of the pitch isn't bad, and, even if Natalie blew it somehow off camera, it fails on the inability to provide a woman, who can't work them out herself, profit percentages.
What we see starts at 32-10 in, and is over a minute and a half later. Very few people could work out 2-10 as a percentage of 6-99 in their head. It was a job for a calculator, and whoever had one - and basically for the buyer to do herself.

As for why Selina was not brought back by Sam, she has been making very nice comments about him in the house so he probably would feel guilty bringing her in (even though he is the least likeliest guy ever to do anything with that flirting from her).

And people who are really hoping that the biggest characters (and probably the best candidates, even if you don't like their personalities) are going anywhere soon are probably mistaken. Still a few deadwood candidates to shift.

Well I have actually managed teams, including having a 'deputy' be somewhat lazy and incompetent but liked the title but i actually did tend to bypass in favour of a more reliable member of the team so have some experience in this area. I was more discreet, diplomatic (or sneaky) than to make what i was doing as obviously offensive as Charleine did here though. I also maintain that had i had the choice over which member of Staff o award the title to for a daily task (as i've had to do on team Building courses) i would have given it to the person I was actually getting my information from and passing instructions to. Basically to the person I trusted to do the job.

I think not having the courage to name the person she actually wanted running the sub team for her (David) was insulting and weak and suspect she might have come under fire for it had they lost the task. Also for not letting Richard pitch when he has proven experience of it with big corporations. It is hard to tell when so much is edited but she seems to have a personal issue with him (as she also does with Selina) and it intrudes into the professional.

Richard could just as easily have blown a gasket at being nuetralised in the manner he was and undermined the whole task. If he is so powerful as to be a danger in that way if just a 'normal' team member, why would humiliating him (and that is what constantly asking to speak to David who technically was answering to Richard did) make him any better?

I don't like Richard much by the way, but still though Charleine's man magement was off - both as a human being and to win the task.

I still say it doesn't matter if the shop keeper was being lazy - she had a right to ask that question. We don't know that the boys couldn't have worked it out - there must be a reason they keep putting Brett on figures (perhaps he is good at it) and Scott managed with the cat towers last week where Selina could not. Do they not have access to calculators to work it out? And perhaps they were just being polite by asking if she wanted them to take over rather than just doing it as she might have been able to manage it in which case they would have looked bad for undermining her and trying to 'steal' the sale when it was her turn to pitch.

Yes, I suspect it would have got very bad. What was that "I toast myself" business as well? Is that something that generally happens with a winning PM? The people back at the house raise a glass in congratulations? If it is, then maybe she should wonder why nobody in her team did it for her - a sign they didn't actually think she'd done that well or was responsible for winning it? Or if it has never been done before, why did she think she was so much better than the previous 4 winners to warrant it?

I didn't know what to make of selina and Charleine the first couple of weeks - they both seemed competent enough and as though certain other candidates were sidelining or belittling them for no real reason. But now I think they both bring a lot of it on themselves and are as bad as each other in different ways.

You summed up my thoughts perfect;y. The self-toast back at the house was embarassing and Richard's face really painted a picture. It really is quite amusing, Charleine essentially blocked Richard from taking part this week because she thought his ego was out of control, and then uses her PM-time to try and make it all about her. She's just as bad, if not worse, than both Richard and Selina. And there is no doubt in hell she would have tried to bring down Richard for not doing much had she ended up losing the task.
