A Sales team should be able to answer any question asked of them. Why should the shop keeper go to the trouble of working it out for herself when they should have been able to do it for her? Yes, maybe it does indicate she was too thick or lazy to do it but she was the buyer and the customer is always right.”
Its very difficult to give self important incompetent people something to do, but then sideline them so they are kept away from whats important. You would invent a pompous sounding role for them - like deputy leader, or chief of resarch , and then either do it yourself, or parcel the real jobs out ot other. people. There's no such jobs available in The Apprentice. Arguably realising he would be more of a problem, if sulking with nothing to do, was quite smart - although perhaps not exceptionally so, as he had done it before.
I can't see Brett offering any percentages or offering to step in with them later - why would he just not say anyway if he knew.? the boys just offer to take over - there's no evidence they could answer the question asked either.

Karen is talking nonsense - what we see of the pitch isn't bad, and, even if Natalie blew it somehow off camera, it fails on the inability to provide a woman, who can't work them out herself, profit percentages.
What we see starts at 32-10 in, and is over a minute and a half later. Very few people could work out 2-10 as a percentage of 6-99 in their head. It was a job for a calculator, and whoever had one - and basically for the buyer to do herself.
