Roxy Mitchell and her boyfriend Carl White are in The Vic, trying to enjoy themselves, however Roxy is constantly looking over at ex-husband Alfie Moon. Roxy's sister, Ronnie Mitchell, enters, and asks Roxy if she wants to go shopping. Roxy tells her she can't as she's spending time with Carl, and Ronnie says she seems to be spending a lot of time with her.

Dexter is working in The Arches when Ava enters, asking Dexter if she can speak to him. Dexter says he's busy, and Ava says it won't take long - it is about his Dad. Dexter asks what it is, and Ava tells him that Sam isn't coming back - he's gone, for good. Dexter seems to be OK with this, and doesn't reply. Ava asks if he is OK, and Dexter says he's fine - he and Sam were never going to be able to rebuild their relationship anyway.

Poppy tells Peter that he is all Lola talks about. Peter says that she is joking, however Poppy tells him to turn around. Peter sees Lola staring at him, and Poppy tells Peter that what happens next is up to him. As Poppy leaves, Peter looks back at Lola.

Kat is over the moon when Alfie gets a new sign to go over the door of The Vic with both of their names on. Kat kisses Alfie, unaware that Roxy is stood at the bar, watching them.

Lauren is in the Minute Mart, buying some milk. She pays for it and goes to walk through the door when Jake enters, almost knocking her over. Jake catches her and the pair stare at each other for a bit too long, which is noticed by Denise. Lauren pushes past him, and leaves. Denise questions Jake on what that was all about, and Jake pauses, saying he doesn't know, before placing his magazine on the counter and rushing out. Jake sees Lauren talking to Bianca, who is working on the stall. Jake tells Lauren he needs to talk to her, before pulling her into the alleyway next to The Vic. Jake says he is sorry for the way things ended, but he needs to focus on his wife and daughter, and that he doesn't want their friendship to be ruined. Lauren says it's a bit too late for that, before saying that she loved him. She goes to leave, but Jake pulls her into a kiss. They kiss passionately before Jake suggests they go back to hers...

After enjoying his afternoon of sex with Lauren, Jake plans to head home however his plans are ruined when Max and Abi arrive home early. Jake is forced to hide in Lauren's wardrobe.

Sadie has just picked Bella up from school, and is driving home. Bella is chattering to an already annoyed Sadie, annoying her even more. Sadie lashes out at Bella.

Janine is shopping in the Minute Mart with a crying Scarlett. "Please, Scar, just shut up!" Janine pleads, pouting. Joey enters and asks if she is OK. A nervous Janine says she is fine. "Have you heard anything from Alice?" Joey asks, and Janine looks guilty. "Er, why would I?" Janine snaps defensively. "Alright, keep your wig on..." Joey says, and Janine apologises, before paying for her bread and leaving with Scarlett.

Cracks begin to show in Terry and Bianca's relationship when Terry's ex-wife Nikki shows up, much to TJ and Rosie's delight. Nikki and Bianca get off to a bumpy start, however things begin to look good after Nikki helps a struggling Bianca stop Liam and TJ's fighting.

Jake is at his house when his phone rings. He sees it is Sadie, however he ignores the call. He calls Lauren, telling her to come round. Lauren sneaks in, and the pair kiss. They are passionately kissing on the sofa when Sadie enters, having picked Bella up from school early. Lauren sneaks into the hallway as Sadie asks how the Sous-Chef job interview went, and Jake says it went well - he got the job!

Roxy overhears Alfie and Terry talking in the cafe, and it upsets Roxy, who storms out. Ronnie finds her crying on Arthur's Bench, and asks her what is wrong. Roxy explains that everything with Alfie is too much, and she can't bare to be around him. Ronnie asks what she is going to do, and Roxy says she's leaving Walford - she's going to call Peggy and move to Portugal. Ronnie tells Phil, who agrees that they need to keep Roxy in the country. Ronnie suggests Phil sells the pub, and he agrees. Later, Ronnie visits Kat and Alfie and drops a bombshell - they're being kicked out of the pub on Christmas Day.

EastEnders Announce More Carter's + Cast Changes | Thursday 5th December 2013

New EastEnders EP's Dominic Treadwell Collins and xItzDannyx have confirmed that the cast will be going through a major shake-up.

Hetti Bywater will be departing her role as Lucy Beale, a role which she has played since 2012. Lucy will be killed off in a dramatic who-dunnit in April 2014.

Roxy Mitchell will also be leaving in September 2014. She will only be leaving for three months, and is set to return on Christmas Day 2014! Rita Simons - who plays Roxy - has played the role for seven years, and wants a short break, however has promised it is only temporary.

Alice Branning (Jasmyn Banks), Ava Hartman (Clare Perkins), Dexter Hartman (Khali Best), Sam James (Cornell S John), Sadie Young (Kate Magowan) and Bella Young (Isobelle Molloy) will also be departing. Four of them are set to be killed off in a stunt on Christmas Day, with another one departing separately on Christmas and another one departing on New Year's Eve - but who will die?

It was previously announced that a new family - the Carter's - lead by Danny Dyer would be joining the soap. Mick - who was supposed to be played by Danny Dyer - has been recast to Emmerdale actor James Thornton, whilst Danny Dyer will be playing Mick's brother Connor Carter. Kellie Bright is playing Linda, Sam Strike is playing Johnny and Maddy Hill is playing Nancy.

Timothy West has been cast as Mick's, Shirley's, Tina's and Connor's father Stan. Annette Badland has been cast as Stan's sister-in-law Babe 'Aunt Babe' Smith. Danny-Boy Hatchard has been cast as Mick and Linda's soldier son Lee Carter. Zsa Zsa Carter - played by Emer Kenny in 2010 - will be returning to the soap with her now-husband Leon Small (Sam Attwater), who also appeared in 2010, and their daughter Carla Small.

There's a further six characters joining between now and April, as well as several returns. Kristian Kiehling will be joining as new Market Inspector Aleks Shirovs. Singer-actor Matt Willis is joining as Luke Riley for a three-month stint. Rebecca Scroggs is also joining as Fiona 'Tosh' Mackintosh - the abusive ex-girlfriend of Tina Carter. The last three new castings are Charlie Cotton - the secret grandson of Dot, played by Declan Bennett - and Pam Coker, the wife of returning character Les, played by Lin Blakleyy, as well as Donna Yates, a new market trader, played by disabled actress Lisa Hammond.

Les Coker - played by Roger Sloman - is returning to the show. He previously appeared as an undertaker in 2012, for Pat's funeral. Also returning are Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Ryan Malloy (Neil McDermott) and another secret returnee...

This will bring the regular cast up to 60 characters, but more upcoming departures will bring it to around 45 - 55.
