I want to be able to view the 4 main uk broadcasters catchup TV and the Amazon Streaming channel. I've tried a fire stick, which is fine for amazon, and bbc but not ITV/4/5. Also tried chromecast streaming from my pc, again goodish for Amazon/BBC but hopeless for ITV/All4/5OD. Is there a device for all these channels ?
Regards
Tony

ITV and all4 are very perculiar in the devices they are on, the firetv is probably the best option but that is missing all4, roku is another good option or nowtv box but the roku is missing Amazon instant video and the nowtv box missing both netflix and Amazon instant video, all4 is rumoured to be arriving on the firetv soon so i would just bear with that tbh.

Or why not get something like this and put whatever you like on it?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sumvision-An...android+tv+box

Access to the Play Store so all the apps, preloaded with Kodi so you can get live international TV too.

Until All 4 comes to the AFTV, get a NowTV as well. You can get them for around £20 with 3 months free entrainment pass (worth £18.00)

If you don't want the enter entrainment pass then sell it on eBay.

Thanks for the replies. Now TV does all the terrestrial channels, is that only the last 7 days or can you select anything that's on the relevant player site ? It's a shame my fire tv stick won't yet do ITV or All4 !

Your Fire TV stick will do ITV very shortly. ITV Player recently arrived on the Fire TV Box, and they stated at the time it will be on the stick a few weeks later. We are still waiting. I suspect that they will hold back until the brand new ITV Hub is launched which is scheduled for later this month, then it should also include live content.

All 4 are keeping mum about any expansion plans, and they have been quiet for a while. But since they are the last to arrive on the Fire TV, then there is more pressure for them to do it.

From my understanding (and this is not confirmed, just from bits I have put together), All 4 are concentrating on upgrading their platforms to really be All 4 (at the moment, most are 4oD just rebranded), and the Fire TV will be part of this - but it could take a bit of time.

The Fire TV is your best bet, as Prime is unlikely to arrive on any competing devices in the near future. And right now, the Fire TV has everything but All 4 (They even have UKTV Play!)

As a backup, you could grab yourself a Now TV box which only costs £15, as a backup and then sell it on afterwards.

Now TV doesn't offer the terrestrial channels at all. It provides live and on-demand for a selection of Sky channels (about 13) plus the 7 movie channels in a separate package. It is great value to be honest. They also do a Sports pass as well, and that is all of Sky's Sports Channels, but none of the extras. The Entertainment pass offers catch-up on their own shows, which can be 30 days or longer depending on their licenses. In many cases it includes entire box sets, including earlier seasons as well as the latest.

Now TV unfortunately are not yet on the Fire TV stick, so having that Now TV box will be a good idea.

So, get both, the stick and the box. You won't notice any build-up as they are both small, but you will have to switch between them on occasions.

I didn't realise that. I've got it on my AFTV and assumed it would also be available on the Fire Stick.

As luck would have it your post is already out of date

Amazon Prime Video is now on Roku in the UK

http://www.engadget.com/2015/11/10/r...n-prime-video/

The Amazon Fire TV Stick is also missing Google Play Movies / Music and the YouTube app is a bit ropey (fair amount of freezing which makes the stick unresponsive) - in the UK I believe the Roku has Movies - not sure about Music though.

In the absence of ITV Player on the FireTV Stick you can view ITV content on STV Player (as long as you enter a Scottish postcode)

Yeah, and in cases like this, I love it when something I post becomes out of date

This is great news for the Roku platform.

Only thing really missing from it now is UKTV Play. This is on the Fire TV stick, but that still lacks All 4.

ITV Player should arrive on the stick any time now. It is on the Box and ITV said it will be on the stick a couple of weeks later. As it is, they have gone well over the couple of weeks, so either it will be there any day, or more likely, they have decided to wait until the new ITV Hub is launched in a week or two from now. (Though nothing is stopping them from holding out longer as ITV have never been one of the speedier networks to add a new platform.)

ITV Player and All4 not on LG smart TV's either. But I use Now tv or Youview for catch up most of the time.
