Where has it been reported that A+E will be launching Vice channels outside the US?
That is not what was reported when Vice announced their intentional to launch channels in those territories. They were rather vague stating that they did not know what their strategy would be: whether just to partner on distribution or the channel be joint ventures; whether to have national or channels or group countries together; whether to have a single deal or different partners for different distribution methods.
A+E were not at that time named as the US partner, though were expected to be so. It had been reported in the spring, though not confirmed by either party, that H2 would be replaced by a Vice channel.
But as a Vice investor, A+E have said that they felt it better for Vice to work with local partners who knew their markets better rather than a global deal with themselves.
In fact as far as the UK and Europe go A+E were not even mentioned as a possible partner at that time. That despite A+E Networks UK being a joint venture with Sky and operating throughout Europe. ITV and Channel 4 were named as possible UK-specific partners, and Discovery and Sky as wider European ones.
