Another FTA channel is all good be sad if H2 goes but would also be nice to have another channel to.
This sounds much better than say Daystar HD which might be launching to.

No, it's a news/documentary channel aimed at younger audiences.

From some of their reporting and journalistic standards I have seen over the last year, "news/documentary" is a very generous term to use.

Can't say i've watched much of it myself, although I see the BBC cited Vice's online success when planning to move BBC Three online, and expressed interest in working with them on producing new content.

I've watched one or two and youtube etc and they are fairly decent - a sort of bbc four for 18-30s / Stacey Dooley cries / investigates type stuff-a-thon !

They made this doc about ibiza - http://www.renight.com/videos/ibiza-...vice-magazine/

And I saw one about the real Walter white

Vice TV is great, highlights some stories that never get any mention in the news.

Where has it been reported that A+E will be launching Vice channels outside the US?

That is not what was reported when Vice announced their intentional to launch channels in those territories. They were rather vague stating that they did not know what their strategy would be: whether just to partner on distribution or the channel be joint ventures; whether to have national or channels or group countries together; whether to have a single deal or different partners for different distribution methods.

A+E were not at that time named as the US partner, though were expected to be so. It had been reported in the spring, though not confirmed by either party, that H2 would be replaced by a Vice channel.

But as a Vice investor, A+E have said that they felt it better for Vice to work with local partners who knew their markets better rather than a global deal with themselves.

In fact as far as the UK and Europe go A+E were not even mentioned as a possible partner at that time. That despite A+E Networks UK being a joint venture with Sky and operating throughout Europe. ITV and Channel 4 were named as possible UK-specific partners, and Discovery and Sky as wider European ones.

It was recently reported in one of the papers as well as in Broadcast that they plan to launch a FTA channel in the UK in 2016. It will be the third Vice-branded channel after the US and Canadian rollout.

The UK version is "one of up to 12 European launches planned for the next 18 months."

Yes, I know, so what does that have to do with me asking zeebre12 where it has been announced A+E Networks would launching their channels in the UK and Europe too?

It would be great if it has anything to do with the excellent Vice News on Youtube who make some fantastic documentaries on subjects like ISIS, but I bet it's not related to that! History should be rebranded into an entertainment channel and renamed in any reorganisation, then they could launch History again with it's original purpose.
If they do end up replacing H2 in the UK with this, then we won't have any actual History Channel history programmes anywhere at all.

It is.
Same folks as those that make the series for HBO, where alot of the docs come from in the first place.
And the H2 replacement is US only.
They've not agreed any UK or European channel agreements yet, they're in discussions with alot of broadcasting-partners including ITV, Channel 4 & Discovery so watch this space
