I agree with regard to the trust issue. I'd have fired him too.

I don't think he is an unprincipled person, but hadn't considered the whole issue around setting up a business in tandem with his existing one, or the issue of the possible conflict of interests, and found himself wedged between a rock and a hard place. I don't actually think he was trying to con them, but having been made aware of the issues, he was simply trying to avoid having to make decisions which would impact badly on his brother and their existing employees. I can see where he was coming from, but I think he should have given a straight answer as soon as asked, and possibly asked for time out so he could phone his brother and discuss the issues with him. Not doing so may have cost him a place in the final, in my opinion.

He was a promising candidate, and he knows he blew it with too much blag and bravado.

Weirdly though I felt sorry for him when he was fired. ”

Sadly I laughed my head off when he got fired. I loved seeing him unpeeled like and onion and having to admit his plan was bs in the interviews then finally admit on live TV he was a bullshiner.

I meet a load like this in business, overfed, fat faced, slightly sweaty and overconfident, often under achievers who think they can fool people with a slick line and a load of management speak. We used to play a game in meetings called 'bulls**t' bingo and he would have given me a full house very quickly.

Right at the start of this series Suralan read out the strapline about 'clearing away the clouds blah blah' and I recall Richard smugly saying he wrote it. Suralan said then he had never read such a load of rubbish and Richard looked like he had been kicked in the proverbials.

I was glad to witness his final slitherings about the shares in the company with the brother and laughed out loud when he was fired.

I saw him twisting a wedding ring - good luck to whoever tied the knot with this charmless nurk, time to cut and run luv.

I enjoyed his BS being outed so much I've just sat and re-watched the interviews, gold entertainment. Chuffed to bits he got the chop.

I found his arrogance, superior attitude and over-confidence too much throughout.

Myles was a bit like Gary out of this series. He was older and corporate which Lord Sugar hated

Just finally played my recording of Richard's coming out interview. The bloke is truly ghastly and was far worse on there than on the Apprentice. Had a look at his websites and he just is as big headed and grandstandng on these ... I wouldn't buy a used car from him tbh or give him my marketing budget to spend, thanks all the same.

The thing about selecting consultants to work with and then handing over a company's hard earned cash from their budget is all about trust and the consultant understanding the vision, values and culture of the business .....

I liked him, and I'll miss him. I hope they bring him back for future "You're fired!" shows.

You must be a very miserable, unhappy person, to judge by the way you choose to see people and describe them here.

I liked his website. I found it very readable, and as a result, I found a link to his book on Amazon and read some of it. If I knew someone who's setting up a small business, I'd buy them that book for Christmas. I have a role in marketing a community group, and I got some really good ideas from it. I'm not studying marketing and have no incentive to read dry, boring books, so his breezy writing style was appealing to me.

If you ever write a marketing book, feel free to send me the link.. I'd be happy to buy it too, if it was any good.

I have no problem with the guy personally; even though he had that confidence-bordering-on-arrogance thing going, it was usually done with charm, plus it does kind of go with the territory.

My issue is more to do with the general impression that he's really running on empty, ideas-wise.

Firstly there was the digital 'trailblazer' notion, allied to a cartoon rendition of a mountain - he admitted that was all a bunch of nonsense in the interviews. That then morphed before our very eyes into an outsourced marketing department with accountable ROI - nice try I guess, but inventive step there is none.

Now, despite his on-screen candour, he's pushed on with his cartoon mountain - website, book and all. Unfortunately, for all its trailblazer packaging it really does look like very basic stuff.

I quite liked Richard. I'm never one to be used in a poll, I seem to like the hate, and hate the like. He stood out, was bossy (good) not really nasty, like some of the girls. He stood out, which is all I'm asking from The Apprentice

Nah, he's just cheap. He's the sort of man who would use a voucher on a first date.
