Look, I like Richard. He tries hard and he is able. He is not arrogant at all.
And the most important thing is, he keeps his calm. How he hasn't managed to explode I do not know. He's been verbally attacked enough. And it's all unjust criticism. ![]() Charleine either fancies him or something. So there! ![]()

Oh he is exceptionally arrogant...but in the business world, sometimes, you have to be.

I agree he's arrogant. You have be either arrogant, deluded or bonkers to enter so he's an ideal candidate.

People seem to dislike him because of his ego.
I feel like The Apprentice team have taken a more subtle approach to showing most candidate's egos this time around, where instead of having some ludicrous talking head about how they're the best thing since sliced bread they just show what they're like in the tasks (*cough*Selina*cough*Charleine*cough*) where as with Richard they really seem to be going out of their way to make him a sort of pantomime villain in the editing. I gotta say though, whatever you think about Richard he does deliver over the majority of the other candidates, and I do think he has shown he can be a team player, he's not at all the worst person to appear on the Apprentice, in fact he's starting to grow on me a bit. |

I think Richard's a genuine contender. Of course, who knows how good his business plan is - and I have doubts about him purely because he seems to work in a very similar area to Mark last year, so will Sugar want a similar business? - but if I were Sugar I'd rather have arrogant and good over nice but incompetent (ahem, Sam). |

Extremely confident, yes, but also capable, a good team player and a leader who got things done without being autocratic. Rather like Mark Wright last year, who quite a few people here seemed to think wasn't up to much either ...

I agree, I'm fairly certain that the heavy edit on Richard makes him a shoe-in for the final five, if not a finalist. He's definitely a contender, regardless of how many people seem to dislike him (team-mates included)
Brett and Joseph, certainly, but that's a rutting stags/alpha male kind of clash as they clearly perceive him as a serious threat. Charleine too, obviously, but I see her as horrendously petty and prone to personal conflicts anyway. But we have seen on tasks, whether as PM or sub-team leader, that he seems to take people's input on board and gives them clear responsibilities for them to own (and, yes, to take the fall for if it goes wrong). While task record isn't the be-all and end-all of a candidate's ability, I don't think it's a coincidence that Richard and David are both 5-0, as they have been arguably the most consistent players so far. (Mergim is also 5-0 - go figure.) |
