simon's label seems to be going all out lol
both fleur & ben's debut single are actually quite better than most other x factor contestants' debut single before

tbh i dont get about the ripping off thingy?
it is indeed have that uptown funk vibe, but its quite diffrent from it actually imo

Hoping this is a big success. She deserves it.

It's very different it's just similar in terms of style everyone said uptown funk was a 80s rip off yet it got to number one and still in top 100 now!

I think Fleur suits this style and it's very MJ style which she said she was bringing to her album.

Ok I polled the office and didn't tell anyone who it was

more than half the room said it either sounds like its sampled MJ or "is it by the guy that released uptown Funk"

Just like Uptown Funk I'm bored of it already

The majority will love it though, and that is all that matters.

No you don't know that. You do realise that people can dislike Fleur without them being a fan of Ben? You are absolutely obsessed with Ben and you automatically think that anyone who criticises anything to do with Fleur must be a Ben fan. I find it interesting to hear what some X Factor acts come out with, but I'm not a fan of either Fleur or Ben.

So who do you actually like then as you seem to get very irate with any person that likes Fleur?

I enjoyed the song but I am getting fed up with it already as it is playing in almost every advert break as part of the Asda Christmas campaign. I do hope Fleur's people have asked permission to sample Wanna Be Starting Something as it borrows a lot from that song as well as Uptown Funk.

No I don't...it's only you. There are other fans of Fleur on this forum who are able to give their opinion of her and sing her praises without being an obsessed psycho fan. You are absolutely obsessed and anyone who dares to criticise her, you just can't bear it. I mean, you were practically deeming 'Sax' as world class based on the 30 second preview!!What's even more worrying is that you seem to think anyone who criticises Fleur is a Ben fan!

Not obsessed in anyway what so ever. Fleur is just my favourite XF artist, and not my favourite music artist who happens to be Beverley Knight who i am actually friends with.

I agree.

But Fleur's version of 'Uptown Funk' did get to no.1 on iTunes...

Dislike the song already
Praying it isn't as overplayed as Uptown Funk

Currently No 81 in Itunes. Just two hours before release.

Quite like it. Can sort of see the Uptown Funk comparison. I think it's mainly stemming from the fact they both have a prominent sax feature in the chorus but eh, whatever... Still catchy enough. Wouldn't buy it, but would probably enjoy it if it was on the radio.

Very good, I mean it's a great party record but...Where's the sax!!!!!????? Play that sax... then synth trumpets. I'm sorry but as somebody who plays the saxophone I find that insane. This is no discredit to Fleur I just can't believe nobody has mentioned this anywhere, because there is no sax on this record, there are a few synth samples of a baritone sax (I think) towards the end playing the odd note and the hook is synth trumpets. Why on earth would you not have a real tenor sax solo!

Yolanda Brown would have been great on the track.

A minute was enough to listen to it, after that it just seemed to repeat in a predictable way, one of those songs that does'nt keep your attention all the way through and quickly becomes forgetable. Personally i thought it was disposable rubbish.

I mentioned that on the 15 minute preview thread

It's a shame, it's actually not a bad single overall but the 'brass' sounds very fake. It would have sounded much better with a real brass section or even just a couple of real trumpets layered over the top to give it a bit more character in the top end. As it is it reminds me more of Human League's Fascination synth horns than the JBs or Maceo & The Macks.

I'm also not sure how well it really sells Fleur as an individual 'artist' though. I could just as easily imagine this being a Little Mix single.

i think that would be my main criticism , it basically could be anyone singing it and sounds very "over-produced"

A great feel good track, and destined to be a big hit. Well done Fleur.
