Anton safely through to week 3 and Syco/ITV make a lot more money than they would've done had he been given a safe (MOR) song choice - thanks to people voting like crazy. I love how engineered X Factor has become. It just fascinates me how its all done to perfection.

They ended up doing the same to poor Nicholas McDonald but he'd done enough solid performances in the earlier weeks so people had pretty much decided who they liked by that point, before the "sabotage" started. He also made the final, so with all this in mind it's currently looking quite good for Anton to make the final 3 too.

Histastic - I don't think Anton can be compared with Nicky. Nicky had several solid weeks behind him. He had time to build up support. Plus he and Sam B led the votes all the way through and only Luke came close towards the end.

Anton has only had one performance, and the Sun story was released Monday morning. Week two and the derailing has begun with a song that he's messed up before. I'll be amazed if he reaches the final, unless like Chris Maloney everything they try do just bounces off

Surely it would be easy enough to establish if these stories are true or not. If they are true, I think people might well be put off. Nobody likes a fake.

Stunk of sabotage. All About The Bass didn't work for him the first time, there was really no logical reason to repeat it, it's an odd choice to begin with for a forty something male with a soul voice. Bang Bang could have worked if he'd done the full song. Unfortunately the mash up was a car crash. He tried though, he really tried with the awful choice he was lumped with.
