I'm a little disappointed if I'm honest. It's like someone took three seperate albums and merged them together, there's the motown stuff, the 80's stuff and the ballads, all mixed up, for me they don't gel well together at all. Considering they marketed this as an epic 80's pop album I'm pretty underwhelmed by the finished result. Too many slow songs kind of bog this down.

I've added it to my Prime Library but I haven't heard it yet. I'll take a listen later on.

Very mixed on it. It's essentially a combination of both DNA and Salute and it doesn't quite work. You have the innocent pop kiddy songs and than the dark edgy adult urban songs and that doesn't work in one album imo.

I love it, I think it brings elements of Salute and DNA together really well. I like that it's not full on 80s, too much of a throwback sound never really works. The modern ones like OMG are so fun and the ballads are a step up from Salute, I feel like they truly resonated with the girls more this time around

i disagree about the ballads. towers and these four walls are two of my favourite little mix songs.

I think it is a great pop record if not quite a classic. It''s a brighter, poppier record than it's predecessors. It's never really dark. There is quite a lot innuendo at times though. I get this feeling LM are on a hen party for some of the songs. The ballads are mournful at times but the vocals really soar and the girls sound strong. They might get a hit out of Secret Love Song.

For older listeners like me, you do get your 60s, 80s and 90s retro pop sounds which are really well executed.

Well those are my first thoughts anyway.

And 'Black Magic', I wish LM would do some 80s synth pop and rock....maybe next time?

Having played the Album twice now I think its a brilliant little album
Its no better or worse then DNA or Salute and its definitely a progression album. I think the future singles are obvious and stand out. I unsure how well it will do in terms os Sales but i think it will be around for a long time. Apart from the two singles my favourites and hopefully future singles are Grown Adidas and Weird people

Only on my first listen at the moment but I'm not loving it at all. Hopefully that will change as I really do like Little Mix.

I've not really listened to their first album much and what I've heard doesn't really appeal to me, but Salute was great. I'm rooting for them to do well with this album regardless, I wonder if they can get #1 for a week.. is that at all likely?

GW is not really like Salute, it's more of a pop record with a nice, eclectic mix of songs.
It's in competition with Ellie Goulding for no 1.

After one day of sales, Little Mix are currently #1 in the album chart midweeks with Get Weird. However, it's not Ellie Goulding you need to keen an eye on. Someone called Elvis Presley is likely to get a second week as the #1 album, whilst this group called The Beatles are probably going to chart high too. (I'm being sarcastic, I think it's incredible that the legacy of Elvis and The Beatles lives on 50 years on from when they were dominating the charts in the 60s)

In fact, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Elvis and The Beatles are the top 2 by the end of the week although I think Little Mix will remain ahead of Ellie Goulding.

The impact of Elvis and The Beatles goes way beyond the Charts. The Elvis thing is supported by a lot of tv progs. Rod Stewart currently at 2 isn't a youngster either.
As a Beatles fan I'm quite pleased.

Aside from there being too many ballads my biggest problem with the album is the amount of autotune Jason Derulo uses on SLS, it's embarrassing when you listen to the girls voices which sound completely free of pitch correction and his sounds full of it.

Just bought it today, skipped straight to 'The End' as that's what I wanted to hear first. Really love the song, really love Secret Love Song however I'd have preferred it without Derulo.

I've heard Get Weird, Hair and Lightning before and like them all. Love the ballads...it's a pretty good album to be honest.

I agree but there is a reason why Jason used it. Because he can't bloody sing and he covers it up with his auto-tune.

Yep

After listening to the album more it is growing on me, I think I was thrown at first because it doesn't sound like how they described it would be, I was execting a retro 80's synthy album and instead we got something different, I'm getting there lol, it's just taking a while, Lightning might be my favorite LM song now tbh.

It is an album that grows with each listen. I love Hair and Secret Love Song. Rumor has it Secret Love Song might be a third single next year.

Hah hardly a rumor since he's so popular right now, and he's high on them so they could probably perform together a little:

"I saw a cover that they did of 'Want to Want Me' and thought it was awesome," Jason told Digital Spy of his decision to team up with Little Mix.

"I'm in America so I wasn't super familiar with them, but once I heard the cover, I went and did some research and I liked the stuff that they've done.

"They then sent me this song ('Secret Love Song'), which I thought was awesome so I came in and put my own twist on it."

I've only listened to it once so far, but I think it's a decent album.
