I quite like it, is very fun pop album, a mixture of different sounds with old school and newer melodies. The End is amazing, the vocals are stunning o it. They are quite cheeky on ADIDAS, I wasn't expecting to here that

I agree on Derulo's autotune - completely unnecessary as the guy really can sing, he killed it on Pentatonix's album with If I Ever Fall In Love. But overall I'm more into uptempo songs on the album but Love Me Or Leave me is quite nice.

Their cover version of the Ronettes Be my baby isn't bad.

Midweek sales

1 Little Mix - Get Weird (34,716) *
2 Elvis Presley - If I Can Dream (34,150)
3 Ellie Goulding - Delirium (25.5k) *
4 The Beatles - #1s (15.9k) ^

Missing Data: Apple Music (Saturday, Sunday), Spotify (Saturday, Sunday)

Surely streaming will help LM more than Elvis, probably not enough to overcome. But the sales are going to be better than what Salute opened with.

Wednesday midweeks (via Buzzjack)
Missing data from Apple Tuesday, Spotify Monday and Tuesday

1. Elvis 60.3k
2. Little Mix 45.1k
3. Ellie Goulding 32.2k

Singles
13. LMLY
32. Black Magic

Elvis is unexpectedly strong so no #1 for LM but they may tie or better their debut for DNA, bucking the slump in album sales. Black Magic is only 14-16k away from Platinum as of last Friday.

Nice to see LMLY rising. I personally think it should of given them a number 1, or at least a top 5 placing.

Secret Love Song Parts 1 & 2 is clearly the best thing Little Mix have ever done.

If either version isn't a single they will have made a huge mistake.

The Sun revealed the Jason Derulo version is the next single (the Sun gets fed from Syco) and in their livestream Monday Perrie accidentally mentioned learning the dance moves to it and Leigh Anne said "you talk too much". In any case getting him is a no brainer to make this the next single. Maybe it gives them a look in finally on US radio since he's big now.

It helps that he actually likes them and looked them up on his own, which is what prompted the duet version. Hopefully he'll also promote it.

Supposedly the album sold 5067 yesterday, hopefully it continues. Then they could beat DNA's opener. Poor Salute.

I don't really think it's a case of "poor Salute". They might've alienated the pop fans who loved their debut album. When people said all the fans wanted another Salute, this was probably 40 very vocal fans, whilst the 500k who loved "pop" Little Mix just kept quiet.

Black Magic quite simply sealed the deal. As discussed in that thread, it's one of those pop songs that has successfully appealed to a wider audience than singles like Move, Salute and Little Me would've done.

Love Me Like You has also been a wise second single. It might not have gone top 10 but it's clearly getting the sales just spread over a longer period of time. Plus, the instant grat singles were decent too (I still think Hair is better than LMLY but that's just my opinion).

This is why the album is selling well. It's got two catchy pop songs that kids, teens and adults will enjoy.

It's just a shame that it's ended up going head to head with Elvis and losing. When Faithless topped the UK chart about a month ago, they sold 14k to get there. Get Weird sells 34k in two days. Little Mix would've rocketed to #1 that week, but sales is what counts. I reckon their sales will hold up quite well as we head towards Christmas.

Well you know me, I dont believe LM only has to be "dark and edgy RnB" in their endeavors. I dont see a musical influence of any kind being a progression or a regression, its just another direction. While I do think they are honing their own vocal sound, I dont hear the same in the instrumentation of their songs that you might hear with a band. I dont even mind them taking an entirely new influence on their fourth album.

Also whenever I read the comment "oh they did this to appeal to young girls" I want to say, wrong! Pop is more oriented to older listeners who grew up with it and its apparent to me that their single choices so far have been to broaden their age base. Secret Love Song seems to be hitting across the board so thats a wise choice for third single.

BTW, they are now up to 27 arena dates on their UK/Ireland tour, so obviously they are appealing to a lot of people.

So gutted that Little Mix probably won't get to number 1 this week!

Eh, this campaign will have brought their highest selling single (BM may go Platinum tomorrow or in the next few days after) and their highest selling album opener. Good news regardless and especially at a point where so many previous XF acts are sliding down.

This is definitely my least favourite album of the 3 because it has a somewhat 'immature' sound, even compared to DNA. Some of the songs sound quite samey in terms of production - you've got fast tinny drumming sounds in Hair, Grown and A.D.I.D.A.S.

We’re happy to announce that @LittleMix’s ‘Get Weird’ has gone Silver in just one week! Congrats girls! #bpiAwards

That means 60k on debut? Thats their best start ever by a longshot and extraordinary in the current sales slump.

It's nearly mid november so album sales will start getting higher now. They could benefit from the xmas surge in weeks to come. By december, albums in the top 5 are normally selling by the 100ks. Adele will likely be the big seller.

after a few times listening to it, it's clear that secret love song part II is the best track. i also love weird people, omg and love me or leave me. but salute is still their best album by far, to me.

Such a shame that Little Mix sell over 60k but end up #2 when you consider all those weeks this year where the #1 album has barely done 20k.

Excellent sales, and like I already posted, I'm sure Get Weird is going to hold up pretty decently too as there are bound to be people buying this album for their children, or young relatives/friends in the next few weeks.

Putting this in for posterity

If I Can Dream's resilience proved too much for Little Mix, who would otherwise have landed their first number one album with Get Weird. Debuting at number two, Get Weird nevertheless racked up the highest first week sales yet (60,053) for the X Factor graduates, helped by the popularity of current single Love Me Like You, which jumps 19-13 (30,870 sales) to a new high, . Their first album DNA sold 53,314 copies when debuting and peaking at number three in 2012, and follow-up Salute sold 35,281 copies when debuting and peaking at number four the following year. DNA has gone on to sell 373,785 copies, with Salute selling 295,528 copies. - Music Week

Glad the album is doing well with sales, has it been released in the USA?

Yes, it's currently predicted to debut at #9 with opening sales of about 22,000. Salute opened with 43,000 and DNA 50,000 as a comparison:

The sales figure can get adjusted up or down during the week, but not by a large amount.

The sales only figure is misleading. Neither HDD nor BB200 officially chart anything other than sales + streams, which puts HDD's figure at 27k+. I noticed last week that HDD's figures overall for the bottom Top 10 were 5k off of BB200 (I think HDD uses a panel of retailers but BB200 uses Nielsen Soundscan sales figures) so its still up in the air where LM end up. Its not wonderful anyway. The girls just let out on Sunday Brunch that they may be spending extended time in the US next year so some of us are speculating the label let the US go this time to secure the UK so they can leave next year.

Still the charting positions have been 3-4-2 which is consistent.
The Sugababes have two no. 1 albums and Girls Aloud only had one, perhaps album no. 4 can achieve that? I hope LM stick with the eclectic mix approach to album 4.

If it gets in the top 10 then that would be great
