Its about time really. I just hope they don't rewrite history. The last we saw of Gordon he was offloading Aaron to an apprehensive Chas, as Aaron's bad behaviour was taking its toll on his Gordon's wife and and other children. If Gordon is returning long term and no family is mentioned one can only assume that that relationship has broken down and that Gordon might be looking to reconcile with Chas.
I always found it odd that Aaron was raised by his dad and step mum and resented Chas for leaving him, yet as soon as he had got chance he shacked up wth Chas and never gave his other family a backward glance, even when he'd forgiven Chas and moved on, it was like that part of his life never existed!! |

I remember the actor played Dr Atwood in Peak Practice. Good casting. Interested to see why he returns in the first place after failing to come back for all the calamities that have already happened with Aaron.

I just hope we get a good explanation why he would suddenly want to reconnect.
It's quite sad to think he basically gave up on his son to protect his second family, and now just a few years down the line they are on longer around either. I'm actually looking forward to how this affects Paddy. I can well imagine him having a fight with Gordon, if done well Paddy should definitely have a big role in this story too. |

Knowing Kate Oates and her need for sensationalism, I'm apprehensive about this.
Aaron has had some momentous moments in his life since he left his dad. Being outed via his assault on Jackson and having it splashed all over the local newspapers. Being in court for the attempted murder of Jackson (again - splashed all over the news) And yet, at no point has Gordon made any attempt to get in contact. I have an uneasy feeling KO will do her usual and re-write history to chase her own plots. |

I hope history isn't re-written to portray Gordon in a bad light. i can already picture Chas and Aaron moralising and lecturing him about not be part of Aaron life. Those of us who can remember though Gordon brought Aaron up on his own for years because Chas couldn't be bothered to be a mother and walked out on her son when he was very young. Gordon only kicked Aaron out when he was older teenager and that was because he couldn't cope anymore. Aaron was a thug, involved with gangsters and drug dealers and even beat up Gordon's wife. He was always a far superior parent than Chas.
It'll also be terribly cliché if Gordon is suddenly interested in reconciling with Chas considering all the years he appeared onscreen as a recurring character there never any hint of unresolved feelings between them. Some people do actually move on after getting divorced and Gordon and Chas were a rare example of this in soap. |

Aaron was always close to his dad, who by all accounts was a very good parent. It was with his mum who abandoned him and had no idea how to be a parent that his angst lay and he was always desperate to get home to Gordon on the few occasions he visited Chas.
Aaron only starting playing up when he got into his mid teens and his dad and step mum had a child of their own and Aaron was no longer centre of his dad's universe and I am not sure many people would blame Gordon for asking Chas to step up and finally do her bit after his wife was assaulted. I hope they don't depict him as the villain of the piece, Chas is the reason Aaron had so many issues through his childhood not Gordon. |

This should be interesting, I just hope that they don't push Paddy out of the picture in favor of Gordon. Paddy is much more of a Dad to Aaron and I really enjoy their relationship.

Meh, just another excuse to give TinyTearstick more blubbing screen time - the very last thing the show needs at the moment imo.

Good. I always felt he should of came back years ago. Especially around the time of Aaron's coming out. Glad Kate is doing this before she breaks the nation's hearts and goes to Corrie.

The last thing we need is more Aaron and Chas on our screens. Plus saw a tweet that said things aren't slowing down in the Dales in the new year. Which is unfortunate, slowing down is exactly what the show needs. |

Agreed. I can imagine the blubbering and the emotional blackmail inflicted on poor Gordon. Despite the fact that tearstick was a violent little thug towards him and his stepmother.

Great! More Aaron and Chas. It's not like they haven't been shoved down our throats enough already. Atleast Debbie will bugger off soon.

Oh goodie, even more Aaron. How truly mar-ve-llous that such a scintillating, enthrallingly stupendous ball of joie de vivre that captures the screen with such spiffing splendour and simply astounding acting ability, is finally going to get some much required screen time to light up the TV like a soft glowing sunset on a mid-summer evening. Especially when the poor lamb is so shamefully ignored and constantly sidelined at every available opportunity, seemingly invisible to TPTB. The neglected little love s always overlooked in favour of other characters
.P.S - any chance of you moving to Corrie sooner Kate? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
