I know it is early but I am building my Christmas playlist for December and I am looking for some new Christmas songs for my playlist.

I have the likes of Slade, Shakin Stevens and Band Aid but I am looking for some lesser known ones rather than the big ones everyone knows.

Example I have discovered Trans Siberian Orchestra who merge metal and Christmas together.

Any suggestions?

I wouldn't classify it as a lesser known song anymore. Strangely enough it didn't even chart when first released but has now become ubiquitous this time of year.

All three of my most favorite Christmas songs just happen to fall into this category!

"Fall Softly Snow"-Jim Ed Brown & Helen Cornelius
"What Do You See?"-Sonya Isaacs (Right now her singing this is not at the You Tube website.)
"Only You Can Bring Me Cheer"-Alison Krauss

God bless you and those who sing them always!!!

Holly (a fan of Alison since 1994)

P.S. And may the awesome Jim Ed Brown rest in peace.

One of the most 'Christmassy' for me, and always gets left out of Christmas compilation albums, is " Wombling Merry Christmas" by The Wombles.
I also love " Turkey Lurkey Time" by Debbie Gravitte. But it has to be her version. The original stage version ( it's from the stage musical "Promises Promises" ) is a bit strange and very dated.

Lower Than Atlantis - Merry Christmas (Wherever You Are)
Mull Historical Society - Christmas Is Here Again
Los Campesinos! - When Christmas Comes
Glasvegas - Please Come Back Home
