Leona Lewis' Christmas album is brilliant in my opinion. Definitely worth a listen, even for the covers of well known songs.
I'd also suggest the Carpenters two Christmas albums. Not sure if they would be classed as well known or not lol. I especially love Merry Christmas Darling. Maria Mena - Home for Christmas. And Marina and the Diamonds - Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. A cover obviously, but a good one! Will add more if I think of any. Loving most of the suggestions so far as well. I'm doing the same thing, searching for Christmas songs I'm unfamiliar with, and there's some excellent suggestions in this thread!

I won't risk the wrath of posting the Cheeky Girls, but this bunch weren't far off. Of course, loving cheesy camp I can't resist.

That'll be Christmas by Thea Gilmore is a fairly recent one, which I think is pretty good.

I like most traditional carols.
I like this (probably not completely unknown but without digging through artists covers/unknown tracks (usually for good reason). One film in the 80's introduced me to this great song! Darlene Love - Christmas (Baby please come home) |
