Boney M's whole Christmas album (Christmas Party) is brilliant. I have a copy and I play it every year.

I forgot to mention that Silent Night in German (Stille Nacht) is very moving.

It was ok. And hardly "lesser known". It is amongst the UK's biggest selling singles of all time.

This one's not so much of a lesser known one, but is never played any more (except in my house, I love it!)

That used to be one of my favourite Christmas songs. I feel guilty listening to it nowadays though.

The magnificent Cocteau Twins once covered Winter Wonderland and Frosty The Snowman.

Probably the only songs Elisabeth Fraser did not sing with 100% other-worldly (but gorgeous sounding) lyrics

Chris Rea.

"Driving Home For Christmas."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDt3u2Ev1cI

This is on my "The Best of Chris Rea, New Light Through Old Windows" album released in 1988.
That is the best "best of" album. Re-recording songs cos they've changed so much during the live shows, so he decided to do them again as they were when he played them live. Brilliant!

Sorry - back on topic...

A Spaceman Came Travelling - Chris de Burgh

Steeleye Span - Gaudete , adore it.

Another rock and roll Christmas - Gary Glitter, big at the time of release, but rarely heard these days apart from in my car!

Merry Christmas darling - The Carpenters, silky smooth.
