Sonics - Don't believe in Christmas -1965

Scroogelike ( stoogelite?) mean spirited and marvelous

I watched the Danny Baker show on Sky Arts tonight and he played a few Christmas records that I'd never heard............

I liked this one........Christmas At The Airport by Nick Lowe

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiSf083QM_U

ps..he also played the one from Home Alone 2........by Darlene Love, Alone On Christmas, which someone mentioned a few posts ago.......don't think I'd heard that before but it's a cracker !

My three must-haves as "Gaudette" , "Solstice Bells" & "I Believe in Father Christmas" but aren;t in the remit

How about Julia Fordham's "Christmas in London"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Hzk4LWIYJk

Probably too well known but David Essex's "Only a Winter's Tale"

I prefer the far superior original version by The Waitresses.

Unless you listened to Atlantic 252 in the 90s, you may not have heard " grandma got run over by a reindeer by Elmo and Patsy...

The Saturdays also did a cover of that for the Get Santa soundtrack in late 2014. I think it was the last song they recorded together.

One of their songs has already been mentioned.
But I would also recommend 'Peace At Least' by the Rotary Connection.

There are a wide number of Folk Songs about Christmas which would now be considered as not well known.
Such as The Carnal and the Crane, or Chistmas Time is now at hand, or On Christmas Day, when a man found Ploughing on that day is smote to death by a vengeful Jesus for such disrespectful behaviour.
