Eh?

I didn't say I wanted him to do anything.

I was pointing out that even this exchange between Zoe and Len would have been subject to direction from the producers and may have been recorded several times before it looked and sounded convincing. "It's telly for cryin' out loud."
.
It's not like she stopped him in the street and asked him.
I was meaning the thread in general practically calling Len a liar just because it didn't fit their views.

I really shouldn't read the whole thread since yesterday all at once, but then i'm a glutton for punishment since I read the whole weelend Strictly Episode threads in one go by the end of practically a nervous wreck heh.

That's not why they are annoyed.

Everybody here pathologically hates Peter and wanted rid of him, that the only reason.
I don't pathologically hate Peter -- he seems like he might be quite likeable despite his Jason Donovan like speechifying tendencies and the I'm A Celebrity stupidity. I'm also not a Jamelia hater -- I suspect I'd get on quite well with both of them. It's the blatant injustice that has got my goat and, it would seem, that of a lot of Peter fans and Jamelia haters as well! This issue has crossed divides.

The main problem is that the result contradicts what we saw with our own eyes so I doubt that the controversy will die down soon.

Does anyone know how often standing ovations are faked?

I don't recall any moles at the show reporting them in the past but maybe someone could have a look through past studio logs and lets us know how often it happens.
We've heard a lot from people who've been to the show about how much they're encouraged to go crazy about every dance and clap and cheer. A forced standing ovation (if it even was that) is only one step up from that really...

Doesn't excuse it, but it does make me amazed how many people on here seem to be shocked by it and think Strictly was entirely pure and innocent before last week. Anyone can see that was simply not the case.

I went a couple of years ago. Obviously told to cheer loudly when dancers come out and if you really enjoyed something during the dance to cheer etc. Wasn't told I had to stand up and there was no re-shot standing ovation for anyone.

Haven't read through the thread so apologies if it's been mentioned but did anyone else think that Aljaz looked really worn out?

I think we've reached the stage where everyone looks exhausted.

I don't hate him. But I am upset about the level of manipulation in last week's results.

One reason I can give to demonstrate that I don't 'hate' him is that I believe as a child he was brought up in a fundamentalist religion that could be described as extreme and some (including me, having researched it extensively), would describe as a 'cult'. The level of indoctrination he would have been subjected too is very difficult to leave behind and I respect anyone that has the strength of character to break out of a cult and build a separate adult life.

I find him insincere and my personal view is that the extent of reality tv he is involved in to earn a living is a bit grubby. But if he was indeed brought up in a religious cult as has been reported and some of his wider family members remain within it, He has overcome massive obstacles in his personal life, simply to separate himself and be a functioning human being not crippled by mental illness.

I don't imagine it is easy having your loved ones believe you are shortly going to 'die at Armageddon' when human society ie 'Satan's world' is destroyed by God.

So I don't hate Peter and it is simply not true to say that everyone who is unhappy with last week's fiasco hates him.

That includes any of us who've read through all of the arguments in this thread

Yes, yes, yes. Couldn't we start looking forward to Saturday's show. I wonder who the Friday guests will be. I'd love Louis to come back.

Didn't mind Alesha at the time.

Didn't care about the rest at all, well, didn't like a couple of them.

I don't rate him either.

Mixed up and bloody messy with stupid themes.

Boring.
