Anita and Gleb's paso wasn't a patch on Pixie and Trent's for starters. Anita didn't do half the dance steps that Pixie did and she was on the floor three times. A lot of it was quite static too .. with good shaping and good hands .. but too much stomping and her paso face was alarming! It was definitely dramatic .. and well themed but if you look at the actual dancing she did .. not that special and not always tidy. JMO.

She's definitely been seduced by the Showbiz side of it all rather than the Purityofthedahnce.
think the being seduced by the showbiz side has happened to a few of them, I love Ian Waite - a lovely guy - but he has gone very 'luvvey' - and Anton is just a figment of his imagination def not the guy he was before SCD

It is. Mind you, maybe it will give us an idea of how the judges are ranking the couples left.
You are asking for trouble talking about judges and ranking couple

He is certainly not shy and retiring anyway!
Anita has done well but she has had best dresses, music and props plus a new hot pro.
Looking at Anita and Gleb this evening it is obvious they are well matched in that they are both highly ambitious - very talented but not IMO really likeable. Anita is getting strong support among her BBC colleagues, including Karen Hardy, and has had some of the best production and dresses across the series.

totally baffled if I am honest do not know a fellow professional who thought it was a good paso - Karen seems bit of a sell out when it comes to comments lately
Over the last couple of days Karen has been retweeting comments calling for to be a judge on Strictly - do you think she would be a good one Bendy?

I'll be pretty shocked if there isn't at least one collision in the Quickstepathon, whether it's in rehearsals or the show itself. The pros do seem to expecting it to be total carnage

I agree. Too much posing in Anita's - Pixie's was a lot better.

Well they could 'engineer' a bit.

There's a part of me that would love a bit of carnage, dresses up in the air, little legs kicking at the ceiling...full on fight between Gleb and Andre, Kellie screaming her head off, Giovanni looking confused, Jay just doing the 'rock' in one corner and Anton with a smile on his face leaping over the piled up bodies with Katie, and then on his own ...

Personally no, don't think she is objective enough going by CC - I would not pick any of the ex pros of SCD for the panel though if Len left would love a past 'ballroom/latin' great take over

And Helen looking around at all of this then proceeding to have a full on breakdown in the middle of the floor?

I used to think she would be a good judge but not anymore, please no. She is too full of herself now. Joanne was so much better at choeography corner. I wouldn't mind Anton as a judge at least he has earned it over the years.

Alesha Dixon was really the perfect contestant IMO. Funny, bubbly, lovely, amazing dancer/performer, great personality , amazing chemistry with her pro....all rolled into one. Prior to Abbey she was my favorite winner EVER.
Some celebrities usually lack one or 2 of those elements but she was ALL of that roll into one . I cannot recall a dance of her that I didnt like; ALL of them were amazing : the rumba, waltz. QS, AT, Paso, Tango.......... every single one of them were GOOD. There is reason why she is still a lot of people's favorites.

Even the Paso and foxtrot she messed up and improvised were AMAZING....Arghhh !!!

Messed the paso starting at 1:27 and improvised the rest of the routine....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2ohf_6hIDw

This is a compilation of all her dances in order

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmoaz_oxnJQ ( WEEK 1 - WEEK 7)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iH9Pes31Qzw (week 11-till finals)

Her amazing Tango which is very underrated : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8Ala3Rhf_E
Dreamy waltz : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WP0cVQpKsYs
Christmas special VW : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULXiT9bfnic
One of the best AT this show has ever seen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRqBfx8aYmo
Rumba week 1 and one that didnt make me cringe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8WMzAn94f8

And yes this is my little tribute to Alesha . TEAM MATHEESHA !!!! Justice for Alesha !!!

The ex Pros would be too close to be honest with the couples even though they would be very sympathetic to them. Listening to Len and his breakdown of the judges last night Strictly needs another Ballroom/Latin expert on the panel. I think i would relieve Bruno of his duties as a judge at this stage.

Agree - I used to think Karen would be a good judge but this series she has annoyed me on CC being so OTT. Joanne explains the choreography really well and I believe would actually make a great judge

For me Anton would try to be the comedian all the time - even though i like him i think i would tire of it quickly

I'd be happy with Anton as a judge.

Just caught up on iplayer:

Ola's mother had a heart attack and she returned to Poland leaving Sid Owen in the hands of Iveta who choreographed their cha cha cha as it was not clear if Ola would return in time. She did and apparently was unhappy with the choreography but there was no time to change it.

FFwd Jason Gilkinson; I've no wish to listen to the person responsible for so many crap pro dances.

I'm sad that people are tiring of Anita and Gleb. Anita is not someone I warm to but I respect her because what she says about learning to dance I relate to. For me she's authentic. Gleb has become my fancy, much to my surprise, but the more he settles and is himself rather than a parody, the more I like him.

Helen's dress is gorgeous. She carries these long and elegant dresses well. Katie's dress looks beautiful. I think she'll look good in a deep green. Georgia's ... hrmm and Anita's - yeh I hope it's not like a nightie.

I think all the judges are given roles - the nasty one, the woman who goes weak at the knees at the men, the purist old school traditionalist, and the excitable one. We don't know what happens when any of the men change, but when the woman changes she always becomes 'the woman who goes weak at the knees at the men' - that can't all just be natural. So whether Karen or Anton or whoever would work as a judge would depend what role they were replacing. I think Anton could replace Len as the traditionalist, and we'd see a different side of him. I think Karen would be annoying as the woman who goes weak at the knees at the men. If there were two women and Karen was given a different role to Darcy, like the traditionalist, that might work better.

Was it me or were all the dresses looking a bit ropey? Perhaps everyone backstage is exhausted after Blackpool.

Quite a lot of negativity surrounding Anita & Gleb tonight. IMO she comes across well and seems to be loving the experience. I think she was really surprised at her score on Saturday and whether people agree with her score or not I'm glad she got the recognition. Maybe she's coming across as ambitious because she was so happy with it? Nothing wrong with being proud of yourself for achieving something

Im not sure Gleb would work well with someone who couldn't dance? He seems very tough as a teacher.
You should watch when he was on DWTS with Lisa Vanderpump (50+y/o). He was a bit different then. More outwardly engaging, fun and caring on the show.

Still not shy though.

I think the pros are starting to gear up now. Giovanni asked to dance shirtless.
Gleb oozes sex appeal all over ITT.
I wonder what the others are hiding up their sleeves. The fight to stay in the final has begun.
