I would have thought it was sorted between them beforehand how long they would stay in character .
I am rooting for Anita and love her work commitment and effort , Gleb is beginning to bug me now though

Maybe he thought she was going to move. He did not shout it for everybody to hear, we only know about it because they had microphones on.

I've just had the response I was expecting from the Beeb complaints department
My complaint:
Quote:
“ Here are the details of your complaint:

----------

YOUR COMPLAINT:

Complaint Summary: Blatant dance off bias and apparent cover up

Full Complaint: As an annoyed BBC licencee I've already pointed out on a couple of comments columns about this débâcle that anyone with half an eye on internet sources of information on Saturday night/Sunday morning knew the "facts" were being manipulated. A reliable source in the audience who reported the unwarranted judges' decision against Jamelia's excellent quickstep in favour of Peter's appalling jive late on Saturday night, also reported the re-recording of something resembling a standing ovation to replace an apparently poor audience reaction to Peter and Janette's offering in the dance off. This was backed up by other audience members This was well before the Sunday evening "Strictly Results Show" when we were able to view the self evident disparity between the two dance off contenders and even longer before Jamelia had the opportunity to say anything. The forums have been seething with outrage at the obvious injustice towards the better dancer on the night, even from those who favoured Peter and those who disliked Jamelia! Shame on Craig, Darcey and Bruno and shame on the Strictly powers-that-be for allowing things to come to this pass and trying to cover it up. It is high time this popular show was thoroughly overhauled and whipped into honest shape

Their response:
Quote:
“Dear Mr Sheldon

Many thanks for watching Strictly Come Dancing and for taking the time to get in touch.

As you’re probably aware, we have been contacted by viewers who were unhappy that Jamelia and Tristan were eliminated from the competition. Some of those have raised different points. To allow us to reply promptly, and use the licence fee efficiently, we raised these concerns with the Strictly production team and we’re sending this response to everyone. We’re sorry we can’t reply individually, but we hope this will address most of the points raised.

Some viewers have questioned the integrity of the judges with regard to their decision in the dance off to keep Peter and Janette in the competition over Jamelia and Tristan.

The judges make their decisions based on their professional opinion, expertise and on that alone. They are in no way influenced or instructed how to score or who to save. We appreciate that viewers do not always agree with their decisions and Head Judge Len Goodman addressed this on It Takes Two. If you missed Len’s response you can currently watch via BBC iPlayer at:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...-13-episode-43

Some viewers also raised concerns about the standing ovation that Peter and Janette received following their Dance Off. As Zoe Ball explained on It Takes Two, the production team confirmed that Peter and Janette did get a spontaneous standing ovation, as did Jamelia, as soon as they finished their dance. As is often the case, extra continuity shots were taken while clearing props from the Tower Ballroom for the dancers to take their positions for the judge’s decision to be filmed. You can read the Strictly Director’s response in full on the Strictly blog via the following link:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/strictlyc...d-37097380bc6d

We hope the above goes some way to addressing your concerns and we hope you feel able to continue to watch and, hopefully, enjoy the show.

Thanks again for contacting us.

Kind Regards

BIB They seriously expect that to be believed when there was so blatant a difference in the performances? My big gripe has always been that any judge who votes out the obviously better performance can not be trusted when the balance is more finely divided!

BLECCH!

I didn't like Kellie at all to begin with but find that now I've seen her more .. I like her more. It's worked in reverse with Anita.
One of the things I don't like is her & Gleb getting into the zone about five mins before and, what seems like, several hours afterwards. It's not necessary. We've seen some brilliant dances on Strictly without the need for any pro to be urging their celeb to 'stay' as if he/she will be rewarded with choc drops later! It's just a light entertainment programme .. not deadly serious come dancing.
I know other people like it .. it's just not to my taste is all. Don't like the face pulling either.”

The "stay" was part of the performance as are the facial expressions .Nothing wrong with adding emotion .
How odd that dancers using their faces to actually convey drama is considered just face pulling and irritating . Yet craig and others on itt have advised the eternally mopey and dull jay to use his face more .
I think anita's rumba will be stunning .

Anita was still in Paso character in front of the judges .. for some of it at least. It was too much!”

She's always been hard-working, and gets to the point. She also has a laugh, and I find she comes across really well on ITT.

I honestly don't know how people can say "oh, when others do it, it's just a joke". Just sounds like nit-picking to justify the bad feeling brewing up towards her.

I've only seen people really having a pop at her now that her marks reflect the performance level she's bringing to the dance floor each week.

Rooting for Nitar more than ever now.

I like it when a dancer, particularly one with negligible prior experience, manages to get so in the zone that they carry it with them to the Judges table. Good for you, Anita!

The first time he said "stay", I wasn't really bothered about it. Keeping her in character and all that.

I wasn't fussed about the big deal made about it afterwards though. That was more down to ITT than Anita and Gleb themselves though.

As for "Nitar", just my name for Anita.

Me too ! Loved her from the start but wasn't expecting her to be so consistently good week after week . It's such a shame her scores rarely reflect the work she puts in . To be honest I think the girls get a horribly rough ride anyway and that's a shame when there are some absolutely terrific ones this year that get sidelined in the rush to praise the jay act's every burp and fart and glory in the fact that he can smile .

Slightly off topic , but I can't believe how thin anita has become . She was like a little fairy to begin with but now she is positively waif like .It's quite worrying actually .

Oh ! I thought it was a mish mash of the two names and couldnt squeeze Gleb into it
Thats true , it was Zoe who made a big deal of it . Mind you Zoe makes a big deal out of evrrything so why was I surprised ? Rooting for Anita now would love her to reach the final with Georgia

I don't think it's anything to worry about, if you start thin you'll still lose a bit of weight with all that exercise. The danger is when you stop you can put back on more than you lost!

I noticed Carol Kirkwood looked a lot slimmer than I remember her this morning when doing the weather, losing some weight on Strictly, she must be making the effort to keep it off.

Good for you.
As much as you are allowed your opinions about Jay, others are allowed theirs about Anita.
God forbid that anyone follows Craig's advice .. his idea of a good performer is Lisa Riley!

I like Anita, i have from the start but Gleb not so much. I'm sure the constant fawning over him has had a part to play in it, which is not his fault i know. Im not so sure that Anita is enjoying her experience as much as perhaps she could have had with a different Pro. He is very intense and I always think that Anita is slightly afraid of him or afraid to upset him so she just agrees and goes along with everything he says! Saying that I wouldnt mind if they won.

I would be interested to see how Gleb would do with a duffer or comedy contestant . I'm not sure he'll be able to cope well .
He's very, very lucky to have Anita.
I'm not even sure he would have worked well with Helen. I don't see him dealing well with contestants like Helen, Abbey. ....good dancers but in constant need of an emotional support by their pros. Aljaz was the perfect pro for them.

Whoever matched the celebs and pros this year did an amazing job.

Nobody said you weren't . Just pointing out that anita and gleb are doing as requested by the judges yet aren't being scored fairly , while jay manages one smiley dance and his score shoots up dramatically, because he looks cuddly and anita is just another girl. She is a victim to nit picking and she and georgia are clearly being sidelined so that jay can finish his 'journey' and shine .

I said that on the "which pros" thread .
I want him to be given an absolute nightmare woman and then the fireworks will begin .
Anita has been too pliable and he needs more of a challenge .
Widdy would have been perfect .
