or perhaps "the people" have a different opinion to you?

He meant they perform to entertain the viewers and audience, not to specifically satisfy the 4 judges who seem to be obsessed with feet...

BUT of course that had to be twisted by a couple on here into a negative because it was a nice interview and there was nothing else to pull apart. Awww diddums.

Well, duh - he's not interested in the dancing but in the votes, what did I say different?

And as for others having differing opinions, I think that's sort of a given.

Aliona said something similar and it's still discussed now - 5 or so years later.
There's a bit more mileage left in it yet

That they're dancing for all the people who vote for them each week, without whom they woudn't still be in the competition.”

You're absolutely right.
I really enjoyed their interview tonight. Anita looked very beautiful, both were in a good mood

You seem to constantly imply Anita can't dance whatsoever when for weeks she has delivered some great standout performances. Yes she isn't technically perfect but that doesn't mean she is a duffer, she has earned her place in the competition and the public are behind her.

Just cut her some slack, she has had to put with Gleb for nearly three months.

Nah, she's good, she's just not improved really, and she annoyed me tonight.

As for the last line, I'll try, because that's flamin' true

I think you're supporting Katie -? Me too but I'm going to give some votes to A&G now as I'm affected in the urine department also.

Yeh I agree, his thinking will be Russian although he probably dreams in English; that seems to happy when you're immersed in a second language.

For me I have just never been impressed by her. The only dance I can remember pre-paso was the waltz and that was just because of the horns. Can't remember the dance. She only made an impact on me paso week cos everyone was going on about how wonderful it was and I thought it was.....not! And then she had two truly terrible weeks with her rhumba and AT. She's just not for me and doesn't hold my attention for the right reasons. But we all have different opinions on dancers, would make it boring round here if we didn't.

Boom!”

I've loved this thread tonight. I think the idea that Gleb is trying to initiate some sort of class warfare via the medium of dance is, possibly, the single funniest thing I've ever read on here.

I know! I've much admired Gleb this series and if I thought he was as deeply subversive as suggested then I'd be a blithering wreck. Anyway thanks for the laughs with your post. A-may-zing!

Are you saying there are no captive, threadbare, starving, beaten bears in Russia? That would be fantastic

A metaphor doesn't mean anything, the question should be what a metaphor IS #grammar nazi

No way is he thinking in Russian when he's holding a conversation in English - that's not how it works. You can't speak any language fluently unless you think in the same.

Spotted that, did you?

If it's not the apparently deplorable, despicable, end-of-the-dancing-world total F of a footwork; it's Gleb's supposedly sloppy teaching methods. Forget great shapings and acrobatics and balance; just point the feet! If it's not her reaction to Craig's 6; it's the "we're doing it for the people" response. If it's not Anita's nice dresses; it's Gleb's see through Chippendale shirt and truncheon. [ No grumbles yet about how his pants were sitting on the hips, though.] Zoe, Claudia, et al pushes the "no previous training" story; Anita says "the dance is difficult" and boom!, Groundhog Day on DS!: "Enough already, Anita! We already know!"

Christopher Parker set the bar for finale-bound celebs - I think Anita can just about reach that.

As Anita's flange first hit the floor about 35 seconds into the cha cha in week one, the answer obviously is YES.
