Yes, that's how Carol and millions of Scots speak in real life.
I don't mean her accent...

I mean the frequent variation in pitch that BBC newsreaders adopt so they can be understood by all...it's not a natural thing!

Yup, I heard that too
Zoe gave a quick flick of the eye as if to acknowledge she'd mucked up, but I can't for the life of me guess what she meant to say.

No, I did get what you mean, but as a Scot living in England I can honestly say you speak like that when you are not speaking to another Scot. We speak too quickly for many people to understand.

Yeah right Craig, but the same doesn't apply to the AT then.

Is it a nickname for Louise Minchin?

Ah, I see!

Well, I'd love to hear and possibly not understand her real accent over the forced BBC one! Feels like she's speaking to a child the whole time

If only Jamelia could have kept her head in the right position.

So glad Jamelia avoided the dance-off - looks like her pleading paid off

The funny thing is another Scot would tell her to stop trying to speak posh!

Apparently she got it right several times before the live show. It just took one beat to go wrong and then the domino effect...

I felt really sorry for her. And I don't blame Anton, I really think it was just one of those things.

Bless him, the head shake and the knees/bum move just cracked me up.

I can't quite figure out why he so funny, it wasn't terrible.
