Very true she may be in bottom 2 but judges won't vote against her

Depends who she's against. She would probably be OK against Jamelia, Jeremy or even Katie but I wouldn't be able to call a Kellie/Helen or perhaps Peter dance off. This week could be interesting.

That would only happen if she doesn't nail the dance, which could happen to any of them (even to Georgia).

Providing she nails it, I can't see many other celebs ranking higher then her based on the dances they have (Georgia and perhaps Jay?).

I don't think we know this for sure. It was speculated at the time, given how odd it seemed to announce her as a pro and then drop her. James Jordan also said, he'd heard they were struggling to recruit male celebs this year. Given Iwan only had a few days free to train before the show and Anthony was broken, that seems plausible.

To be fair, there are only 9 of them, so even 4th is technically "high-middle" of the leaderboard, and that's before ties are taken into account...

I'm assuming they wouldn't have more than one person from a show as it appears there are a couple of actors from Call the Midwife who would have been happy to take part

I think someone on one of the threads knew someone involved at the planning stage at SCD and it was revealed that at least one person dropped out last minute.

Always love a good urban myth

Anyway, back to reality.....

From the various training clips it would seem that Peter is struggling and that K&K are trying to do a samba on speed (party drug rather then party dance).

Still can't see Katie doing all that well with the rumba (certainly not anywhere close to the clip above). None of the contenders have done that great with it, why would she (the oldest of the bunch) be any different? I do wanna bet that whatever happens that Anton will reveal their Blackpool dance, lol. Think that a score of 28 (6,7,8,7) is the max.

Mind you, whoever gets in the bottom two will receive a bounce just in time for Blackpool, so that should see them through to week 10.

Pamela Stephenson and Cherie Lunghi would like a word.

The Rumba's often the best Latin for the older female, especially the ballet trained.

Well, some sort of acting experience also helps, I think

In terms of latin dances, I can't see it topping their week 1 Jive (probably have to wait for the Charleston, which is only Strictly latin).

On a positive note, she should be able to score higher then Jamelia and Jeremy (if not, then I don't think the public will see her through).

And a lovely ballroom number in Blackpool, which might secure a shock bottom two at the tower (though I predict that most Jeremy voters have Blackpool as their goal, after what happened last Saturday and will happen this Saturday).

bendymixer, after the dance is shown Saturday would you be willing to expand on this in the thread about Ballroom and Latin American questions? I'm not an informed viewer but keen to learn and I didn't care for the footage I saw. To hear from someone who is informed would be much appreciated.

One of your clips is her jive and I remember Len saying to her that if she couldn't wow with a jive he didn't know what dance she could wow with. Translated: Rachel was a very correct dancer; skilled and technical but a bit of the bot, to quote Monkseal. It takes a type to appreciate a bot and I'm not one of those. She did not wow me even though I could see she was very good.

Natalie Gumede and Pixie Lott would like a word. As would Louis Smith.

Yes, that was indeed her storyline that year. (bubbly or bust) Let's leave it there.

I have no more to say on the subjects but others might. So you and I leave it here, but only you and I.

Thanks to everyone who answered. People were talking round me and I wasn't sure if I'd misunderstood. Lovely for Jamelia to have such strong support from him.

"It would be amazing, a dream come true!"

How many times have we heard that on ITT? I don't think it's just Georgia and Abbey.

As has been mentioned, Len criticised Rachel's jive - something to do with needing more energy (Rachel's more a Rumba person than a Jive). It was one of his nasty moments, and the way it was put across actually brought her to tears.

Actually, I'd forgotten how good her Jive was - and it was probably her worst dance!

Just caught up with yesterday's ITT. It was nice to forward through some sections of the show but it was a great show. I really like Jamelia; I didn't dislike her before the show because I'd not seen and heard her comments on Loose Women. It was hard to reconcile the woman who made those comments with the Jamelia on SCD and al I can surmise is that she's not a thinker and/or has changed over time. I find her sincere, unassuming and plucky even though she seems insecure. Her partnership with Tristan seems to be good and they have great senses of humour. Loved her anecdote about Dave Arch getting their music ready for the dance off!

Equally Katie and Anton seem to have a warm friendship and I suspect that each values the other's intelligence. In Katie Anton has a partner who is not needy in the way I suspect some of his other partners to have been. I found him interesting to listen to and wish he would be more serious during the show. Katie has a most beautiful rumba dress. Velvet doesn't get used much for the costumes, probably expensive, and it looked luxurious.

Loved Katie's earrings. Does anyone else think they were jade?

Richard Osmond - get him on the show please! I know he said he wouldn't do it. He has a great sense of humour and another fine raconteur. Loved the "slow blink" Gleb move!

That brings me to Gleb. Wonderful snippet to see Anton working with him and as others have said, it's nice to see that pros support one another and are not afraid to seek help and advice from one another.

Agree totally with you! I really enjoyed Friday's show. I hadn't really warmed to Jamelia but I thought she came across really well on the show. Her partnership with Tristan is great and I love how they were joking about not deserving their scores.

Love Katie and Anton as well. It's so nice to actually see Anton happy and enjoying the competition side of it. I know he's always got on well with his partners but it's nice that he's actually been given someone who has a chance of getting far. Also, I did love that clip of Anton and Gleb. I can't remember who else said it about Anton helping them but I think it's nice that he's taking time to help his competition. He just seems like a genuinely nice guy.

I thought it was double lovely that Aliona apparently said "we can't take that for our foxtrot what if you want to use it later"

And triple lovely that Anton said "I'll pretend I copied you"

It's just one of those little anecdotes that makes me think the vast majority of celebs and pros really do just get on with it, get on with eachother and enjoy themselves.
