Of course one could argue, if they were playing devil's advocate, that it's very easy to come in with a relaxed attitude if you've come in with pretty much a guarantee of being in the final, because you're a young, highly dance trained, good looking male.

I really liked Danny's attitude too, think he realises how lucky he is, doing what he does.
Rinder also said something similar a few weeks ago. Think Zoe mentioned him combining his TV show with SCD and he said neither of them were real work, and he was lucky unlike most people - or something like that! I appreciate celebs who don't take their work too seriously and recognise that a lot more people have stressier jobs. Quote:
Well, I for one don't really care that she's dancing with Kevin.....
But for me she's like Rachel Stevens in her year - - great dancer, but just doesn't have that spark that connects with the voting public..... Those who say she's beige are 100% correct - she is technically good but there is zero chemistry with Kevin and even less with the camera which connects her to the voters at home. Quote:
I'm a big Nat fan,but am starting not to like the way she has reacted over the Craig comment. Hope now she can suck it up and move on.

It's one's prerogative to like or dislike a person from what they have seen and they don't have to justify to anyone, specially people who never listen anyway.
Greg has said that he can be a prat, when frustrated and you are still going on about it. BIB - Ironic.

It was in stark contrast to Danny and Otis " so be it " attitude . Danny was so right with his " a bad dance is not the end of the world , there are much worse things happening " I have voted for Greg everyweek but if she keeps up the " woe is me " I might not |

Danny really does look like one of the most advanced male dancers ~ringahs ever to be on the show. He like Pixie did a few years before show their stage school training in their lack of drive into the floor in latin, but I think he'll be okay.
Do we know what Danny's or any other Celeb dancers of the years that were called ringers grades were at dance school, did they take dancing seriously? did they sit in class and snigger at the others? what kind of dancing do they teach at stage school? Not everyone is likely to learn to a high standard are they? I mean they teach singing at places like that but not by any means all are any good and are likely to be ever cast in a musical are they? |

As it happens, it wasn't you - or anything specific - I had in mind when I posted that comment. It was a general observation, aimed at nobody in particular but perhaps you do recognise that trait in yourself.
![]() I love this thread and don't want it closed, feel very sad for you that you have keep taking digs at people for no reason. No I don't have that trait. Funny in your general observation you seem to have seen many, may be that is what you want to believe??. |

Nice to see someone with their foot firmly on the reality floor, I wonder if that attitude wins fans over or loses them ?

Yep - Danny has reacted much better - think Nat may be playing slightly for the sympathy vote as she has realised that there are much better dancers and Greg can only develop so much.

I too am a Nat fan but found this needyness and pleading very out of character . I guess we all have periods of it and maybe she is having a bad week .

I am not fan of Natalie's, but IMO, I think Natalie is reflecting Greg's mood. I have never seen Natalie go on about anything after the show, I think Greg is still disappointed and Natalie is just reflecting it.

Wins them! Started off thinking he was a bit of a himbo but definitely warming to him and his no nonsense partnership with Oti.
I also like Greg a lot but Nat needs to back off a bit with the 'advanced rhumba'. No one believes you!

Purely since this is about the subject amongst many posts about it but

These people are extensively auditioned - with Greg's revelation that they do proper try-outs of every genre before they even start, even more than even I thought they were - if they can dance from the off, the producers knew about it. |

No indeed but Danny (as with Louise and Natalie Gumede and Jill Halfpenny and etc etc) has fairly obviously been cast in this show because he can dance already. He's effectively "insurance" if all the plucky triers turn out to be Thom Evans. Not able to dance to pro standards obviously, but with enough confidence from the producers that someone can turn out a dance of decent quality most weeks from the start, to satisfy the proportion of the audience that want that.
These people are extensively auditioned - with Greg's revelation that they do proper try-outs of every genre before they even start, even more than even I thought they were - if they can dance from the off, the producers knew about it. ![]() I totally accept that he's not had formal training in either Latin or ballroom and I'm not bothered if he's had any sort of rudimentary dance lessons at stage school or not. I'm not so keen though on someone pretending not to be able to do something that they so evidently can. ![]() He's a pretty good dancer - but maybe not such a great actor, if these VTs are anything to go by.

She reacted straight away in the Claudatorium with " I feel sooo bad , I feel so guilty " etc .So I dont think its Greg thats at fault here to be honest .Yes he was disappointed but Nat has taken it up another level with her pleading .

Wonder if Greg and Nat are milking the 'hard done by' theme just a little too much? Maybe hoping to keep the sympathy vote topped up this week?

I was slightly put off Danny because of the VTs in the first couple of weeks, with him rolling around in frustration saying "I can't do this"... when quite clearly he could.

As I said before I think Nat's a very experienced pro on this show, she knows how the audience vote, she knows what a contestant can get away with and what he can't. I wouldn't be surprised if she coaches Greg a little on how to appear in front of camera for Strictly. But if you go back and watch Greg's dances she has choreographed him perfectly. He has never been a good dancer, his foot work has always been diabolical, but she saw that straight away and has been throwing in lots of lovely lifts which he can do easily and lots of long posing in slower dances like that rumba. What she might be panicking about now, and so coming over a little to strong is that she sees that people are seeing through her smoke and mirrors of the last few weeks, Craig blew all that smoke away with his comments and I think people sat up and took notice. She is trying to do damage control the only way she knows how and hoping to get through another week. But I honestly think Greg has reached his 'plateau' as Len calls it.

I know everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I really don't get this "beige Louise" thing.
She is a lovely young(ish) lady, very well mannered ,polite and always smiling. Since when have these qualities been frowned upon ? But in the context of this show, she is beige. That means, for me, she stirs nothing in me at all. |

I do like Danny. Never heard of him before, but think the partnership with Oti is great and he is down to earth and clearly loving it.
Ironically, the mess up probably did him a favour - not a ringer or a professional - someone with some experience and talent, but who is still learning. |
