Matthew cutler - my favourite and probably the best pro stricltly has ever seen. I could have watched him dance endlessly.

It's interesting to see Zoe and Erin talking. i recall (ages ago when Zoe competed on the show) that she and Erin had a disagreement. Erin had said (on camera) that Zoe and Ian's routine didn't deserve the ten that it received. Things got a bit nasty.

Does anyone else remember that?

It's hard to think that that would happen now.
I don't remember that at all!

I remember Erin's comments but don't remember any reaction from Zoe.

I found Zoe really annoying in series 3. But really like her now as the ITT host. Much more than I liked Claudia.

No they did not. It was the great unwashed voting for that fat lad from Barnsley.

Runs off before they come to get me,

Otherwise forget complaints that the competition was won in week 3 last year - this year's competition would have been over in week 1. ".
In week 1 i thought he and Ore were the best dancers with Louise and Claudia not far behind. I don't think he was the outstanding best it's just that he's improved pretty consistently and the others not as fast so a gap has opened up.

Lovely show tonight - Ed & Katya have brought so much joy to this series and I do think its lost some of the magic this week. Them reprising Gangnam and doing a lift in the studio was brilliant! Perfect finish to an amazing run on Strictly, and like many others I hope Katya returns next year, probably with a potential winner!

Thanks for jogging my memory - I remember it now.

Watching that clip made me nostalgic for the early Strictly series...

Agreed. Real Tango music (and dresses) and pro dancers were talking back to the judges. Strictly has changed big time.

Ed was v right saying they didn't skimp on dance content for pure entertainment. And full credit to Katya she delivered fabulously entertaining routines but didn't just go for the easy comedy and Ed clearly improved considerably.
I would argue that's exactly what they did, sacrifice technique for comedy. Its how they stayed in so long. No where near as bad as the Russell Grant types of course, but Ed's routines were usually 50/50 on dance and comedy sketch as the series went on. He did try to make the 50% where he was dancing good, I'll certainly give him that, but Katya was covering his bad technique with smoke and mirrors over and over again. Saturdays Tango was, unlike their usual fair, mostly dance and it showed just how bad his technique was, but I think Katya was running out of ideas to mask it by then.

That all said he came over as a nice guy, earnest to learn to dance and try his hardest and I admire him for that. Also out of all the 'joke' contestants we have had over the years he was the closest to being a proper dancer.

If Katya can get this far with Ed I would love to see her with a decent contender - she has been amazing!!
100% this...
