Thanks for jogging my memory - I remember it now.

Watching that clip made me nostalgic for the early Strictly series...
Yes. More real expression, less fear of speaking out and knowledge of what the dancers are going through and less comedy, scripted VTs and spin. It was so fresh then,

I love Ed. I will miss him. Words fail me for how much I admire Katya for what a great job she has done bringing the best dancer possible out of Ed, the best dancer he could be I mean. I hope she's in the show for years.
Ed and Katya have been an absolute delight to watch. Strictly won't be the same without them.
I would love to see Ed on the tour and do the Salsa - he could win it
Please let them do the tour
They did the Gangnam Salsa Drop live on ITT

Ed and Katya will be a huge draw for the Tour.
I LOVE these two, proper chemistry of the best sort.
Lovely friendship, will miss them
Ed was v right saying they didn't skimp on dance content for pure entertainment. And full credit to Katya she delivered fabulously entertaining routines but didn't just go for the easy comedy and Ed clearly improved considerably.
There were some Saturday nights that Ed saved the show when it was a bit flat! He really embraced it and gave his all!
Sat here smiling but with a tear in my eye aswell, Ed and Katya will always be one of my favourite pairings now

I just love them.
Could there be a prize for best improver?

I've just found it on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCDbLJVI3Eg

If you start from the 1:20 mark to 1:52.
I loved watching that again, their tango is still my favourite ever on Strictly. The music is perfect, Zoe's dress is absolutely beautiful and I LOVED the routine. Why can't we go back to the days of no stupid props and gimmicks just great music, great dancing and great costumes.

I am watching again and again. He follows her, looks for instruction, looks to be taught:

Matthew cutler - my favourite and probably the best pro stricltly has ever seen. I could have watched him dance endlessly.
I totally agree, he was wonderful at ballroom and Latin. Too much time given to Ed tonight and not enough to Matt and Erin.

"She just got Cha-cha-chased by Ed Balls" is probably my favourite line of the series.

my favourite pro dancer too, have met him several times and he's a lovely man

Alesha and Matt were the most incredible partnership.
my favourite couple and well deserved winners of Series 5

Not enough time, they could easily have chatted for 1/2 the show
quite agree, I thought Zoe would spend a lot of time with Ed and Katya but couldn't believe the "Strictly Royalty" that is Matthew and Erin only had about five minutes

Absolutely. But the short comment Matthew did make about Danny's dancing was very telling. I think he said something about losing himself in the dance.

It was so lovely to see Matt and Erin again. I do miss when the show was just about the dancing!!

A lovely way for Ed to go out.

Brilliant seeing Matt, one of my all time favourite pros, and Erin. I was so pissed when the show put him out to pasture.

I had a nice giggle, thinking back to all those people who said it's been an entertainment show from the beginning, while Erin was talking about how it started out just about the dancing.

Hmmm.

I know.

I can understand why Erin herself might need to try to block out the truth.

But....

I too had a giggle at the idea that the woman who partnered Colin to defeat against Darren can still say that "it started out just about the dancing".

Here's another random thought that just occured to me - what are they going to do for the semi-final results show? With only four couples left, they can't split the announcing of the results into two groups as normal, can they?

it always jars when I see the opening titles with the couples, and Will Young has what looks like a horrible boring light grey suit when all the other males are covered in sequins (apart from maybe Ed, but even he has a nicer suit and he was a politician).
