I agree, too. And yet I thought Greg reached his limits and would not improve anymore and would be out the next week. Claudia had a potential even then, IMO.

During Claudia and AJ,s interview when AJ said to her that QS was amazing and it would have been good enough to win any competition, perhaps a little dig at the DO result?

But they can't say that. If they are putting through one of them simply because they are the better dancer overall, then that negates the dance-off (which is not going to change which one is the better overall dancer).

As it's abundantly clear that, when it really matters, the judges choose the better dancer in the dance-off regardless of performance of that particular routine, they really should abandon the whole thing. Who knows - the judges might then be more careful about leaderboard ties and use some paddles below 9.

I think the final would have been a much poorer affair without Danny simply from a dancing perspective so I'm glad he's through.

Indeed it was. I believe that the majority if not all, ballroom and latin trained dancers would have said that Claudia was best by far. I certainly did and all of my dancing friends including professionals did too. Many professionals on social media also agree .

Well, sure. I'm just asking for honesty. Don't say, "based on the dance off alone" if it isn't. Whether that then negates the DO totally or not is a slightly different question. In truth it's an extra bite of the cherry for the judges. Its usefulness is to stop the public going Komedy Kontestant Krazy, but beyond that, I'd happily bin it. Maybe I would anyway. The GBP don't generally allow the duffers to get to the final, but if they did, well, so be it. The trouble with that scenario though, is they would just stack the dice more in the main show. They did both this weekend! 😏

Maybe... But I also felt he was trying to lift Claudia as he followed it up by saying something along the lines of her not realising how good it was. I think they fully realised how and why the DO played out the way it did and accepted that very professionally.

then pray tell me why do they have a DO ?
Judges are meant to judge who danced the best in the DO and not overall in the competition or may have more potential.

I do wonder whether the judges have been punishing Claudia since that point, because of the negative response to that dance off.

Either way, at least she can go home knowing she produced the best semi final dance.

That's my opinion that I thought it better that Claudia stayed. You should ask somebody else about the DO

There you go then. You win some you lose some. I thought she was lucky to escape that though I have voted for her lots, especially after that marvellous Charleston. I genuinely did feel that Danny was better on Saturday but he is definitely better overall and I don't want to see another final where the best dancer has gone out in the quarters or semi's (remembering poor Pixie )

Edit: What did you think of Louise's Samba Jennifer?

Not very good, if I'm honest. To put it in perspective, for a beginner it was not too bad, but of course compared to the other dances by the other couples, it seemed very weak in comparison. There was a lot of authentic samba content, which I was pleased to see but the one major thing that was missing in my opinion, was the emphasis on the different timings within the samba. She was dancing the steps but not accentuating the timing properly which made it look rather one paced. Had she have been able to have done that, and added the performance factor, we would have been looking at a different dance.
