No worries An! I hate rhubarb, but mr tk loves it so we have to agree to differ.
You might be able to tolerate it like this TK its not like pie or crumble where you get mouthfuls of Rhubarb. In this it is used more liek you might use dried fruit If not you can take a wedge home for Mr TK.

Link is not working An....however I've used rhubarb instead of apple in my apple cake recipe and it's worked a treat I imagine that recipe would be similar.

Oh that's odd. I don't know how to sort it out. I copied it again and the string is the same so not much point repeating. If you google rhubarb and sour cream tea cake Tesco you should get the recipe.

I am making scotch broth right now from a used lamb bone. - it smells divine.

Me too and nobody seems to do it any more. Often if you smile nicely at the people behind the deli counter in the supermarkets they will give you a ham bone. And once you have procured a bone its a doddle to do the rest, just chuck it in a pan of water with carrot, onion, celery, a bay leaf or two and some garlic and pepper corns - add heat.

I have turnip and leek in this one as well though. Its the turnip that is hard to get hold of strangely enough.

Apple pie would do nicely while we wait for the rhubarb to finish growing. BTW I was using relic just as a euphemism with no age connotations. It just sounded liek a good substitute word for somethign else.

Oh dear God it wasn't glamorous, it was Moss side. No corporal punishment, that was reserved until we moved to Ireland

An Old Tewstament name I assume, although I have no idea who it woudl have been. Its never a good name though is it? Obadiahs are always unpleasant characters.

you're right An never a good name in that sense that i've come across, but Obadiah Slope is a fantastic name to create for that character, you knew immediately what he was.....the first time i saw Alan Rickman he was playing Obadiah Slope he was magnificent *needs swoony emoticon*.....

for another thread i found THIS HAIR PRODUCT if i get some do you think i'll be able t actually do what it says on the lid?!

Oh I agree that the name set the tone from the start. It was a slithery slimey name for a slithery slimey character. And Alan Rickman played him to perfection. Unfortunately it kind of stuck somewhere in my consciousness so when he came to play Colonel Brandon, the Slope characteristics continued to waft around in my perception.

I thikn the product they used to make for making your hair stand upright as stiff as a board might do the trick.
